Did you lock them? There's a display on the board which gives you error and post codes.
It looks like the CPU power is connected (make sure it's the CPU pins from the PSU and not PCIe, one or both should be labeled) and you have the CPU fan connected to said header. The memory should be in alternating slots (a1/b1 or a2/b2).
The debug codes from the manual, the debug LED is, as you've probably noticed, on the bottom of the board near the case headers:
Spoiler warning:
I'm getting error code 53 I checked that the memory was seated properly and checked both sticks in all the slots, I know the cpu is installed properly I had to double check it when I first put it in(I thought I put it in wrong the first time) the cpu power is connected properly too.
I think it might be related to my memory the sticker on them does say it's for AMD desktops. I didn't think memory could be cpu specific.
I doubt you installed the CPU wrong. The CPU slot is keyed and it can't be locked unless it's in correctly, if I'm remembering right. There's an arrow/mark on one corner of the CPU and the slot to designate correct alignment. The label on the heat spreader will be upright as well.
Compatibility issues with memory shouldn't be too common but maybe. I'd try clearing the CMOS (there's a button near power/reset and the onboard display) and then maybe one stick at a time and swap them around. My best guess is that it's trying to use the timings from my memory and the sticks won't run at it.
You do need them in the appropriate slots to run in dual channel mode.
Since it's two sticks:
[ram] [X] [ram] [X]
or
[X] [ram] [X] [ram]
This is what I get from a search:

The kit seems to be incompatible :(.
yeah I didn't see my memory on the list of tested brands so that's gotta be it. I did make sure to push the memory down until it clicked in the slots.
so I'll have to wait till next month to get some new memory then but that's okay everything else appears to be working though I feel like I might have put the hdd indicator led plug on backwards.
it has to be right I put it on the same as the reset button plug.
Cracked open Xbox One X.
Tore it down just to pull HDD... not a complete teardown.
Cleaned everything I could access from there (so didn't replace thermal paste). Fair amount of dust inside but wasn't too bad.
Original HDD was faulty so dropped in 2TB Seagate, same specs as original 1TB Seagate but obviously larger capacity.
Put the console back together.
Setup USB drive with OSU1 files.
Plugged in USB to console, did troubleshooting boot (button combo).
Did offline update.
Setup console with my profile.
Works fine :)
Original HDD is cactus though, not sure if it's a board failure or a physical issue
Now I need to remove the stickers off the console case
Installing FO3 goty from disc for a test play
having a bit of good luck myself so far today. been searching for some old movies so far I have found and dl'd all the ones I've been looking for.
Xbox One X has internal 2.5" sata.
Original 1TB Seagate has 128MB cache, the 2TB I dropped in is the same.
You can put in sata SSD but I don't have any 1 or 2TB of those.
Only size options you have for XB1 drives is 500GB, 1TB or 2TB. You can use drives larger than those options and then resize down to those 3 options (eg 750GB drive formatted as 500GB).
Original drive is fucked. Nothing I tried doing got it going again, it isn't recognised by anything.
Using a sata to usb adapter the adapter light flashes a few times, drive spins up, there are some clicking noises and then nothing.
Swapping HDD in these consoles isn't easy. I nearly had to tear it down to the motherboard... I mean not all the way, but it certainly isn't like swapping HDD in PS4 variants.
XSX is booked in for HDMI repair now.
Dude has had a look at it, he's pretty confident (optimistic  ) that it will only need the port repaired as it hasn't had the case cracked open.
He also does HDMI timer chip replacements anyway, so I guess if that's toast too I can get that done but it will be a little more $ (not much though).
I told him not to rush it anyway, I'd rather have to wait 2 weeks or even more if it's cheaper that way :booger:
:booger::booger:
Can y'all send me some good luck cause I've been lacking in it today
Bleh, I went to AniRevo, and I'm never going to make the mistake of doing that again, not even if I was being paid to go. I've gone to plenty of random conventions over the years, big small, different niches, whatever. I've never gone to a convention where there was basically nothing to do...
My brother tossed me his pass and suggested I could at least check out the vendor hall, which I first attempted to do when I wandered in. To my confusion I couldn't enter the vendor hall. I could enter a massive room that had a line to enter the vendor hall... There were maybe 500-600 people in there, standing in place, so I step in line. After like 10 minutes a decent number of people are let in, perhaps 200 people, so I think, oh maybe I can get in after like half an hour? Nope, another 30 minutes pass before the line takes another step, and this time maybe 100 people get in... I continue waiting cause I'm already there and maybe I'm near the halfway mark? Another half an hour goes by and they let in another 100 people? So I've now been there more than an hour and perhaps more than 200 people remain in front of me, nevermind the fucking 800 to 1000 people now in line behind me... I don't know if I'll get in if I wait an hour more, so I just bail on the useless line. Like what anime merch did I really expect to find in that place? I'm sure anything they had in that hall can just be found on Amazon.
So I'm off to check out the other fantastic things to see. I walk over to some, room. The door is closed, I have no idea what is going on in the room, there is a line to get in with maybe 100 people, sitting on the floor. HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN THERE TO START SITTING ON THE FLOOR, ALMOST NOBODY DID THAT IN THE VENDOR HALL LINE! I move onto the next place. Oh look, another closed door with no indication of what's inside, this time with 200 people waiting. I continue past another dozen places with similar results. So I just left. I wasted an hour and a half of my life, with no idea what was going on past lines I couldn't get through.
:cc:
The people sitting on the floor are holding a vigil
Ahhhh I love the smell of burning forests in the morning!!!
Alot.

wow yeah it has.
Is all of that started by natural causes though? Yeah it seems like a lot.
This is coming from a guy that has spent most of half a century in a country that has fires every year. Some years are much worse than others.
I mean we have native trees here that explode like chemical bombs
Well rain is forecasted, so I hope it does rain. The wildfires from my local area and Canada has made the smoke really bad. Note I live in a border state next to Canada and my local city is less than 250 miles away from the Canadian border.
