The link will run down the basics i.e. what ROMS you'll need, where to download the english pack, yada yada yada. As far the the connection goes. I haven't played on this thing since this fall of '10 so I wouldn't be that reliable. If my memory serves me correctly it was very tolerable. Also I have no idea where you can recover your password if you forget it. There is probably an option but its not obvious and I a SUPER lazy. So best write it down or better yet save it as a notepad file in your arclive folder. The good thing is that it is free to register and play and as long as you have an email, or mulitple ones, you can register easily.
About the subject of Arcade sticks. Til a few years ago dual-modding or multi modding your arcade stick was a huge hassle. It is easier now as there have been custom pcb's made to either piggyback off of Xbox 360 pcbs or even some that are stand alone. Of course ask yourself what you need. The most affordable and semi-versatile route, for an arcade stick, is to buy a Madcatz TE ($160) TE Kitty board ($50) which allows modding for older consoles. You will spend a little more for shipping. Another route would be to buy a stand alone PCB like a Multi console Cthulu, PS360+, Etokki Board. The Qanba stick comes with dual ps3 and 360 functions ($160). If your a pad player then its much cheaper just to buy converters to play on your system. Better to buy converters than straight up cable adapters because cable adapters will have varying amounts of lag. There is also the joystick-less Hitbox arcade stick which is on back order but very popular with gamers used to PC style, think keyboard, controls.
Good luck to everybody on there hunt for their "dream" peripheral. I am currently modding my two Madcatz TE sticks from multi mod using the TE Kitty board, total support for 12 + consoles. If anyone has questions or just wants to talk send me a PM anytime. Thx! Happy gaming!
So I need to:
