Yeah I'm pretty excite about the job, assuming from how he looked and reacted during, and after our sit in at the food court I got it. I mean, he's even spending his employees time to have me trained at another location.

$1.50 per sale. If I can get at least 4 sales a hour which is probably optimistic, I get $11 a hour. Not all that bad. I'm happy for a first job.

But food service workers/tipped are exempt.

So they often have sub-7.25 wages. Often in the $2-3 per hour range.

Hence why not tipping gets you a loogie in your food.

$2 an hour looks like an incentive for criminal activity.

Only if you work in a tipped environment. It's $2.12, but the employer has to make up the difference to equal minimum wage if your tips don't. All states must meet minimum unless the employee is 16 or younger.

Keeping the interior tidy is important though...nothing worse than a sea of rubbish.
