Clearly it was only the Dems who had some sort of vested interest in how the voting was counted. Republicans made sure that every effort was made to include all votes blah blah blah you know where I'm going with this. Thing is, the Republicans got away with it, whereas the Democrats didn�t. It's the proportions that matter. A progressive taxation policy makes it easier for those with lower incomes (and lets face it, this is always going to be a sizeable group) to get by. Moving right along... if education receives greater subsidising (ONO COMMUNISM HO CHI MINH IS IN ON IT) then it will be easier for Doctors and the like to get the training they need without having to pay exorbitant fees. This can be done with tax money.
Justification for Communism comes from a simple analogy. There is a factory owner, and there are hundreds of factory workers. The factory owner does very little, the workers do a lot, and the two groups get paid in inverse amounts to how much work they actually do. These are the �little people� you speak of. Marxism was born as the solution to this problem, in a world where poverty was much more rampant in first-world countries than today, and working conditions harsher. Robin Hood was a good guy, remember�?

Actually, the fact that he served in the Air National Guard rather than actually shipping out to Vietnam isn't what the cartoon was commenting on. It was a reference to the fact that he went AWOL during a hefty chunk of the time he was supposed to be serving in the National Guard in Alabama. So um, yeah. Thumbs up on the sidestep to a non-issue, although there are plenty of choice quotes by Bush on that non-issue too.
Bush said the following to a reporter of the Houston Chronicle in 1994: "I was not prepared to shoot my eardrum out with a shotgun in order to get a deferment, nor was I willing to go to Canada, so I chose to better myself by learning how to fly airplanes."
He certainly sounds to me as if he had the Soviets in his sights all along.

Absence of evidence isn�t evidence that WMD aren�t there. But it sure as hell isn�t evidence that they are. A tiger�s standing behind you! Oh, but if you looked, it�s gone already� there weren�t any witnesses, but believe me, there was a tiger right there.
The �shining beacon of democracy� myth is a pretty one, but incredibly na�ve. Arabs can see the freedoms available in countries outside of the Middle East. Some complain. They get killed, because they don�t have that sort of freedom. To make a change to all this, start with actually telling off your allies once and a while.

I went to the Eiffel Tower once. It was cool. It would be a shit target, what with the lack of inhabitants, but it looks pretty anyway. The Reichstag comparison to the WTC is unfortunate, to say the very least. Now, stop complaining about how lame everyone else would be in your situation, and come up with ways to better how the USA fulfils its apparent obligations. Personally, I think the world would be a better place if New Zealand were in charge.

The �Osama is captured� conspiracy is one of the most idiotic I�ve seen. People were saying the same about Saddam. The thing is, if the US did actually try it, it could be one of the worst political blunders possible. Imagine the thoughts popping into the heads of voters. �Would you look at that? Three years they�ve been after the crafty bugger� and they did it. Right in time for the elections. It�s a miracle. A coincidence. Wait a minute.� That said, reports are in that the US is stepping up the search for Osama because of the elections, which should be more than a little worrying taking into account the amount of vote-whoring this reflects.
