Havent been able to go to the forums lately because of school distractions (writing speeches for a debate next week, 8 minute introduction and 5 minute closing, as well as an English oral assessment that I have to write a 6 minute monologue for). Anyway, Ive got plenty to catch up on here.

1. Does this "honest recount" include Gore's request to have absentee ballots from military personnel overseas thrown out and uncounted during the recount fiasco?
Clearly it was only the Dems who had some sort of vested interest in how the voting was counted. Republicans made sure that every effort was made to include all votes blah blah blah you know where I'm going with this. Thing is, the Republicans got away with it, whereas the Democrats didnt. This isnt to be confused with a democratic election proceeding as it should.

2. Even though the rest of the world knew Iraq had WMD's at one point, liberals love giving Saddam the benefit of the doubt before they ever give it to Bush.
And guess what? If the benefit had been given to Bush, it would have been squandered. It turned out he was lying. There are no WMD in Iraq, and theyve stopped looking for them. This hasnt stopped Bush and Cheney from saying every now and then We found the WMD already, havent you been paying attention? every now and then.

3. Liberals love talking about Bush coddling to the so-called "wealthiest one-percent." Liberals don't realize that Democrats want to punish people for their success. Whenever people make a profit in the risky stock market, the Democrats want it taxed. If someone becomes a doctor, engineer, or successful entrepreneur, the Democrats want them taxed heavily so that they can "pay back their fair share" to society. Doctors and engineers worked their a$$es off to get through college or medical school, but liberals love saying that their success wasn't earned and instead claim that it was GIVEN to them by the "little people." Even though the rich have their income taxed most today, Democrats still want to increase their taxes until more than half of their income is taken by the government. Liberals don't know how to read statistics when people are taxed here. First off, a millionaire probably pays around a $100,000 in income taxes annually and got only $12,000 back from the government. A working class employee that probably paid around $150 in income taxes will get a smaller percentage of their money back because they didn't pay as much in taxes as a rich person. Democrats want to have a Robin Hood-like wealth redistribution program. They want the working class guy that paid $150 dollars in taxes to get a $12,000 tax refund and the rich guy to get taxed more while getting nothing back in return. While they're at it, why don't they just kill my family and give our home, money, and possessions to people that are "have-nots" like Lenin did?
It's the proportions that matter. A progressive taxation policy makes it easier for those with lower incomes (and lets face it, this is always going to be a sizeable group) to get by. OMGOMGONH BILL GATES IS SUFFRING HOW TRAGIC BLAHSHDJKDLDD WHERE WILL HE FIND TEH MONEY TO BUY HIS DIAMOND COASTERS AND SMALLPOX SPORES NOW KALOO KALLAY. Hes rich. Giving or taking from him an extra few thousand dollars will make no impact on his life at all. It does for those who arent as well off. And just remember, not every rich person has earned their wealth
Moving right along... if education receives greater subsidising (ONO COMMUNISM HO CHI MINH IS IN ON IT) then it will be easier for Doctors and the like to get the training they need without having to pay exorbitant fees. This can be done with tax money.
Justification for Communism comes from a simple analogy. There is a factory owner, and there are hundreds of factory workers. The factory owner does very little, the workers do a lot, and the two groups get paid in inverse amounts to how much work they actually do. These are the little people you speak of. Marxism was born as the solution to this problem, in a world where poverty was much more rampant in first-world countries than today, and working conditions harsher. Robin Hood was a good guy, remember?

4. Bush served in the Air National Guard. What's wrong with that? Did you think the Vietnamese were the only problem during the Cold War? Did you think that the USSR wasn't a potential threat to the US? After all, the National Guard was meant to maintain defense of the homeland from invasion especially from the Soviets.
Actually, the fact that he served in the Air National Guard rather than actually shipping out to Vietnam isn't what the cartoon was commenting on. It was a reference to the fact that he went AWOL during a hefty chunk of the time he was supposed to be serving in the National Guard in Alabama. So um, yeah. Thumbs up on the sidestep to a non-issue, although there are plenty of choice quotes by Bush on that non-issue too.
Bush said the following to a reporter of the Houston Chronicle in 1994: "I was not prepared to shoot my eardrum out with a shotgun in order to get a deferment, nor was I willing to go to Canada, so I chose to better myself by learning how to fly airplanes."
He certainly sounds to me as if he had the Soviets in his sights all along.

5. Just keep telling yourself that cliche about the "lying Fascist that stole the election with daddy's help" if it makes you feel better................
The reason the saying has become clichd is because so many people have said it. You know why those people said it? Because its true. So die cuntingly.

The WMD's haven't been found yet, but they haven't been proven to NOT exist either. Iraq is a big country, and most of our troops don't have time to go around treasure hunting for WMD's now since they are busy policing and trying to rebuild the country. Right now our troops are trying change the draconian societies of the Middle East. Most of our allies in the region are oppressive and corrupt royal families that divert the angst of the Arab people toward Israel and the United States. If Iraq becomes a successful democracy, the Arab people in neighboring states will probably demand democratic reforms like a domino effect. When the Arab people get their right to take control of their own lives without having to rely on an authoritarian regime, they will probably be less angry and disenchanted with the US. Don't get me wrong, the Arabs(including Iraqis) will hate us like the rest of the world anyway, but maybe not enough to kill themselves in a suicide attack. The Europeans, Africa, etc. hate us, but I don't see them flying planes into our buildings.
Absence of evidence isnt evidence that WMD arent there. But it sure as hell isnt evidence that they are. A tigers standing behind you! Oh, but if you looked, its gone already there werent any witnesses, but believe me, there was a tiger right there.
The shining beacon of democracy myth is a pretty one, but incredibly nave. Arabs can see the freedoms available in countries outside of the Middle East. Some complain. They get killed, because they dont have that sort of freedom. To make a change to all this, start with actually telling off your allies once and a while.

Actually, I wouldn't mind the US becoming isolationist again. I wish we could just mind our own business and keep all of our troops at home. I wouldn't mind giving our hegemon status to the European Union. Then, they would know what it feels like when the world hates you for trying to single-handedly maintain global stability and security. Then, they would know what it feels like to have the rest of the world pray for their collapse. Then, they would know what it feels like to have a bullseye painted on their foreheads by fanatical terrorists. I wouldn't mind seeing what the French would do if terrorists flew a plane into the Eiffel Tower or what the Germans would do if the Reichstag was destroyed.
I went to the Eiffel Tower once. It was cool. It would be a shit target, what with the lack of inhabitants, but it looks pretty anyway. The Reichstag comparison to the WTC is unfortunate, to say the very least. Now, stop complaining about how lame everyone else would be in your situation, and come up with ways to better how the USA fulfils its apparent obligations. Personally, I think the world would be a better place if New Zealand were in charge.

If I were a liberal sheep I would pretend that Kerry wasnt just a watered down Bush himself, and that he had more than a few token liberal ideals. I wouldve believed that Dean was a liberal, I wouldve believed that CNN was an invaluable source of information, I would support removing troops from Iraq immediately, I would believe that the majority of the anti-Bush posters in this topic arent complete pillocks. But I dont. And Im running out of things to complain about. Its easier to list stupid things that Bush supports. Thats why I want him out.
The Osama is captured conspiracy is one of the most idiotic Ive seen. People were saying the same about Saddam. The thing is, if the US did actually try it, it could be one of the worst political blunders possible. Imagine the thoughts popping into the heads of voters. Would you look at that? Three years theyve been after the crafty bugger and they did it. Right in time for the elections. Its a miracle. A coincidence. Wait a minute. That said, reports are in that the US is stepping up the search for Osama because of the elections, which should be more than a little worrying taking into account the amount of vote-whoring this reflects.
