For PC why don't you get a wireless dongle for the XB1 controller?
I think it's bluetooth for Xbone controllers. Still, either way I guess I could. Then I might have to screw around pairing it each time though since the Xbox is just a few feet away.
Also just habit I guess, leave a cable along the wall to my chair and can just reach down and plug it in. A 10 footer should do it and they're only like 10 bucks.
heyyy awesome, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is in this episode of Falcon/Winter Soldier!!
Most of the free to play games are shit anyway so I certainly don't care. As I already said it'd be nice if they made online free for some IPs they own like FO76 though.
At least it's actually possible to stick old game discs in the console and download an upgraded digital version... for free.
With Sony shutting down all pre-PS4 content I'd be really surprised if they're going to do any proper BC like they originally talked about, besides PS4 discs in PS5. Which isn't anything worth talking about.
But I can say bad things about M$ too.
Gamepass could be cheaper imo, but I guess many people think it's good value already.
I don't like the series X storage. The new consoles don't look great but at least it's just boring and not bloody ugly as hell :lol
I know they've been concentrating on making the current library work well but I'd like to see more old games added. Probably won't happen again last for gen consoles now though but one can still hope.
Haven't looked at the new controllers, I'm not even sure if you can still use your own batteries
Like most new consoles I won't be getting the new gen for a while yet. No need.
I wouldn't mind an XB1 X though if I could find one bnib cheap.
Personally I think GP is a good deal. 19 bucks after tax per month Canadian and 379 games. Sure easily half of them are garbage but there's still alot of good AAA titles, indies and such.
I believe working on bringing BC titles to the Boner stopped last summer - they'll continue with the Series though.
I agree the storage is ridiculous. 300 bucks for a 1tb addon card which you need for Series games (Not that there's more than a couple games exclusively for the new system but that will change in the years to come) At least you can use any external for One and previous games though.
I believe the controller is the first gen "elite" one. Dunno about batteries though, I want to say yes but :dunno:
I still have the money set aside for a series X. 7 months later and you still can't find one unless it's from a scalper. If I walk into a shop and happen to see one then bam I'll nab it.
Taking a break from downloading PS4 dumps atm, I've got around 3.5TB now and have most backported stuff I want.
Now onto pirating Vita/PSP/PSone Classics stuff :muhaha:
Xuan-Yuan Sword VII looks nice. Anyone here played it yet?
@Dead
I agree (rep)
It's snowing again. AGAIN!
Wonder if it's also snowing in Southern Ontario.
I need to get some component cables for PS3. My 360 came with component cables, but I can't mix and match with PS3. I need the component cables so I can use my capture card with, since Sony put HDMI encryption on PS3 :/.
I actually just got around to jailbreaking my Vita TV, for the sole purpose of using it as an emulation box for PS1 titles. It works amazingly well, particularly as it has native drivers for my DS4 controllers, so I get proper mapping, rumble and wireless all without faffing about.
So that's keeping my occupied as of late, and finally getting around to playing older titles I never got a chance to back in the day. Currently have Chrono Cross, FF VIII and Vagrant Story queued up. Oh, and the Men in Black game, which is horrible but I never was able to get past the first room in the 90's so I need to scratch that itch, heh.
Think I downloaded around 90GB of stuff for my PS TV in the last couple of days.
Still need to sort out a storage setup for everything though.
VitaShell has support for mounting a USB drive as ux0 [the onboard storage of the system], which makes it easy to expand storage without buying expensive sony storage formats. I then transfer things across over the network with the FTP server which is somewhat convenient.
I really wish they would add NFS mount support, then I could just mount up my NAS storage and load it all up on the fly. But in all honesty it doesn't take that much storage to hold more than I need. A 32GB flash drive currently holds almost every game I have an interest in playing in the immediate future. The PSP subsystem runs PS1 games stored in epub format, which supports zstd compression, so most of the ISOs get squished down pretty small for the most part. It also gives pretty fast load times.
Yeah I know about all the storage options, but the hard drives and usb interfaces I have here atm don't want to work. They are all USB3 though.
I've used a small 16GB flash drive for testing so far.
I do have some older USB2 external hard drives but they are full right now and I need to crack the cases to test the interface with a spare empty drive.
All of these drives are powered, not USB powered (well, the flash drive is USB powered obviously).
I don't use ftp for this at all. I download everything on my PC and dump straight to the external drive.
Main reason atm is I don't have a spare port in my lounge and I'm not motivated to setup another switch (or buy a larger one with more ports) just for this one extra device that I won't use online anyway.
I have got it online once just to update some plugins but that required disconnecting one of my laptops so I could use a port.
I prefer having everything I want already, not just a few games and then having to remove stuff and ftp new stuff.
Actually, I just remembered I have a 240GB Corsair SSD here somewhere. I should see if that works.
SSD working with PS TV :]
Do you mean pbp format?
It's the one thing I don't like about vita tbh. The need to use PSOne Classics compressed format.
I converted some PS1 bin/cue games some years ago to classics with zero compression (unlike a lot of the official versions that have compression), this was back when I was messing with PS3 backup injection on official firmware.
Later after I got my first PS3 that could have full CFW installed without the need for extra hardware (flasher) I stopped using those games altogether.
My PS3 consoles with CFW can use my PS1 bin/cue library. They can also use a selection of PS2 titles in bin/cue (CD) and iso (DVD) format. Including translations. Some PS2 games can even use custom config files.
I've had a slim Vita for years now and picked up an original OLED a little while back.
I only got the PS TV more recently as I finally saw a used one for a reasonable price locally (around $100aud with controller and psu).
I've also got a PlayStation Classic (mini).
Looks like this PS TV is pretty much setup now.
Might look around for some odd translations (if they're NoNpDrm) but it's probably unlikely I'll be interested in any of the hardcore weeb stuff... which the vita is full of
Time to move onto hacking the PS4 fat, although I might take a break from doing stuff and just watch vids and/or play games for the rest of the week (at least).
What advert page?
Sony admits it made ‘wrong decision’ and will keep PS3, Vita stores open
Sony has announced that it’ll be keeping its PS3 and PlayStation Vita digital storefront open “for the foreseeable future.” The PSP’s store will still be shut down on July 2nd, 2021, as originally planned.

Dremel it so you'll never need those fancy tools again
:bounce:
Very rarely. But yeah, it's light fluff that melts when it hits the ground.
I think a couple of times over the last 10 years it has settled for a few hours at most, but even then it looks like a little white dust on the ground not proper snow.
Sad, because I actually like cold weather.
Wow you guys are still around.
I been enjoying RPCS3, its a FUCKing excellent emulator.
Bah, hit a thrift store and randomly spotted a MGD2 sitting there for $20 (might be worth 10x that, dunno). But, it had no connectors to hook it up to a console. It's 2021, I'm never going to just find connector cables, I don't even see any sold on eBay. So I wouldn't even be able to test the thing, meaning it's just a $20 paperweight... I skipped buying it, which is just sad.
I haven't been active here lately, let me explain why.
