Is your console chipped?

You probably use pseudo like a lot of people.
I did think of going that route originally but the Phantom Universal modchip was cheaper, the only thing I have to do is region patch US games to JPN as the chip isn't RF it just scrambles the info related to checking retail discs.
AR carts have been hard to find cheap for a while over here. I mean yeah you could get used, but even those are generally more than what the new chip cost me :lol
So the disc you're testing is just English patched and nothing else?
Couldn't remember if you needed to patch for pseudo boot. Been ages since I looked at that and I never used pseudo.
Ok it's raining atm so I'm not going out to cut down the tree right now.
So I'm looking at the patch notes (for up to and including v1.5).
Seems there are some mods besides just translation...
A bunch of resolution changes
Official 4mb cart support
Widescreen switch
Found a note about pseudo for this translation...
So having the 4mb cart option enabled only really works with an official cart I guess :shrug:Quote:
If you encounter incorrect operation of the game when using "Pseudo Saturn Kai", then you need to disable auto-detection of the 4 MB expansion card. To do this, hold down the "L+R" button combination during animating the "Sega Saturn" logo. But keep in mind that in this case, you will not be able to speed up data loading.
I've been playing it for about 30 minutes or so via fenrir. How far along do I need to check?
I've played right into the start of chapter 2 now, after you destroy the statues in Yuzu Village and free the villagers from being possessed or whatever.
I've spent hours playing this now  Can't see any issues so maybe you should disable the 4mb ram auto detect like I posted earlier.
I'll give disabling that a try, thanks for testing it. I see I missed the folder titled Pseudo Saturn Kai Fix :lol.
Yeah I didn't have to disable it when running the game via fenrir. I grabbed a v1.5 pre-patched copy from cdromance.
I haven't used widescreen mode though.
I'm sure I've read notes for other games that have issues with pseudo as well, I just can't remember which ones. Might be games patched to utilise 4mb ram (or even 1mb) like this one
I'm not sure why it isn't a section in the regular readme though.
Might be because even though a lot of people use pseudo it's a cheap hack and the carts damage the slot. So it's frowned upon by purists, the cart slots are damaged easily and the genuine carts won't work properly mainly due to AR's being used.
When I say cheap... it was cheap in the past but now the Chinese realise they can charge more for cheap AR carts so it's impossible to find them for like $20aud or less.
Anyway more people would emulate now than use real hardware.
Even with DC its uncommon to see people asking questions about getting a game to work by burning a disc.
Fair enough. Mine still reads official carts, but I rarely remove the AR cart .
Yeah the junker I got with the broken power button (which now has fenrir) has a stuffed slot. Hasn't been an issue for me really as I have the other console plus the junker doesn't even have a battery in it. I just reset to fenrir menu and backup memory to sd card before turning the console off. Then restore it when I boot it up whenever.
So I'll probably never bother fixing it.
The other console with modchip - the cart slot is ok.
If you have a read online there are people that have hard wired 3 in 1 cart to the mb because their slot is completely fucked and they need it to play burnt games :lol hilarious
Are they using a hammer to insert the carts :revwacko:?
do any of you know what the last status was for the ps3 port of SM64? I've been thinking about it lately and couldn't find anything on it over at psxplace(which is where I had been following it)
https://github.com/fgsfdsfgs/sm64-port/tree/ps3
It doesn't seem to have gotten any further work done on it.
no real info there. the last thing I remember is that it was fully playable but saves didn't work.
Vandal Hearts froze at the same spot. I'll try burning off another copy .
Pull your cart out and it should work
Old optical consoles are the debiru.
it's pretty sad that I can get a brand new case for less than a used case online including shipping.
finished off lego star wars 3 finally getting that 100% it was kind of a pain as I was missing 1 character and had to look up how to get them.
I decided to try ultima 9 today I thought it was an FRPG but it's not(as far as I know) the controls absolutely ruin it. mouse movement and interaction which also makes the game slow it's worse than the might and magic game I played recently.
I was going to check out the simpsons game on ps3 but I can't run it on my crt tv.
"Slow" covers nearly any of those old dungeon crawlers .
installed underrail yesterday haven't gotten around to checking it out yet. think I might go back to I am alive.
I suggest checking out some build guides over on their forums if you haven't.

You can find a bunch of helpful stuff here:

You want to tilt toward one path for combat, if memory serves. I don't remember if this was my exact build for max level. It was similar if not. Psi is rough early on with a payoff later.
Spoiler warning:
was looking on ebay yesterday as I been thinking about getting a set of note stickers for my keyboard. I came across a yamaha keyboard that I really liked but it was out of my price range :( it didn't see too bad a price it would have been around $100-$105 with shipping
I still think CL or FB marketplace are your best bets . At least some of the people selling should be willing to deliver or meet somewhere.
The PO that handles sorting for my area is a mess. Standalone numpad has been sitting since Saturday and stuff that was shipped after it has already arrived.
