Shang Chi and the legend of the Ten rings. I thought it was okay, nothing special.
Watched Red Notice. That's like 2 Ryan Reynolds movies in like a month or something :lol It was ok. An average heist/caper movie, with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds doing some comedy. Gal Gadot's in there too.
Really? WTF, that doesn't make any sense to me. Perhaps they felt it was cultural appropriation cause it was made by Americans? But it's comic book tier culture...
I don't understand it either...
There was a lot of negative noise towards Simu Liu's casting as Shang-Chi, saying that he's not "truly Chinese" since he's Canadian...
Racist nonsense :(
Personally speaking, I feel Shang-Chi is every bit a celebration of Chinese culture, the way Black Panther was for African culture
Also just caught Red Notice on Netflix over the weekend... overwhelmingly disappointing considering the cast :(
Simu Liu not being considered Chinese, his negative view of communist China in an interview made years ago, the story of the comics character he plays being considered disrespectful to China because Shang Shi's father is Fu Manchu and the way this character is portrayed in the comics, not to mention the story of Shang Chi being the story of a young Chinese man who gets a better life in the States after leaving China...
It was banned for many reasons, all very silly, tbqh. Everything offends China.
The movie was pretty entertaining, the addition of all the Chinese Mythology elements did it lots of good.
Last movie I watched was Venom 2 There will be Carnage and it was pretty forgettable, much more after watching the post credits scene.
Fuck China and their despotic regime and emperor.
The world is in such a dangerous mess right now because we all allowed China to be so rich and powerful.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage has not been released in Malaysia yet :(
Our cinemas have a huge backlog because they only just reopened last month, after being closed since last year.
Amazon's Black Friday sale starts next week... hoping to score lots of cheap 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs :)

I was going through a Marvel movies marathon because my ex-boyfriend fancied them but I kinda liked them so I think I'll keep on.
Last week I saw Doctor Strange, it was kinda cool, but the coolest thing was seeing Regina George and the new Grindelwald in it lol.
Ghostbusters Afterlife (2021)
Turning Red (2022)
I liked that coming-of-age element and the whole friendship thing, as well as parental authority and how to handle it. But I didn't like the lack of humor, and the story didn't make much sense. Overall, a mediocre film.
Planet of the Apes (1968)
Digimon: Last Evolution
The Batman
The Batman (2022)
Better than I thought it would be tbh. hmmm 3.5/5 I'll say.
