As does mine. I'm collecting them because I think they're going to be quite uncommon in years to come.
We all know the WiiU games will be collectible in the future too. They must only make 10,000 copies of each game.
History proves this lesson time and time again. Games that don't sell are the ones that are worth more later on. Turbo GFX, SCD, Saturn etc...
There will probably be some scarce Wii U games. They've been reprinting the harder to find Wii games though. I know some collectors that are pretty put out about it. Iirc there was a handful of games that went from $70-90 to about $20. Poor babies.
So for shits and giggles I went to the wiki article for FIFA 14...

Btw just for future reference, having a Japanese PSN account + a Euro one is doable, right? In case I want to buy digital JP games in the future. If I get a Vita, I mean.
So another thought on the Vita being cracked. If it's as much of a pain for most people as the PS3 I don't think it will be much of a problem and I won't care as much (I still wouldn't pirate but I wouldn't be as grumpy about the news). The danger lies in if it's as easy as Dreamcast, PSP, DS etc...where anyone with half a brain can do it.
I'll live with not having it.
In addition to what Dan said, one account per card. You have to reset your console (factory reset) to switch cards if they contain different PSN accounts (regardless of the region).
So yeah, it's nothing like the PS3 where you can have up to 16 PSN accounts at the same time.
Yeah, sounds more like someone is just butt hurt they can't afford the Vita and is totally grasping for straws on why it's a "bad" system.
And just my two cents, but I doubt the Vita will ever truly be hacked. Besides, I don't want it hacked anyway, I just want cheaper memory cards
Jesus, you can have 16 accounts on that thing? I thought they scaled back all the user stuff at one point...
I remember being able to share my log in with a few friends so we all had access to each others stuff, but they put the kibosh on that. I think you can share with one person and that's it.
Well, you've answered your own question there, but that's still not really DRM. Publishers abandoned the PSP en masse due to how easy piracy was. Sony are already having enough trouble getting them to release games on the Vita, no way in hell any of them would touch the console with a bargepole if it wasn't locked down to some degree. That's just common sense. You can't play copies on any other modern console out of the box either. Except for the early Dreamcast consoles of course, which wasn't intentional and again resulted in most third party publishers jumping ship after the first year. Even so, casual piracy was a hell of lot harder 15 years ago than it is now. CD burners were still expensive and it was a nightmare trying to download anything that size on dialup internet. That alone made it more trouble than it was worth for most people.
Memory cards being linked to your account because of digital purchases is unavoidable nowadays - other modern consoles do the same thing (underneath the surface they're actually locked down even tighter) but you don't notice because you're not taking the hard drive out.
Bottom line is there's no region lock on the console and nothing preventing you from buying physical games and treating it like a DS, PS2 or any other console if that's how you wish to use it. The only way you're restricted is in regard to digital games, which you've said many a time you have no interest in anyway, so it's a moot point.
Well said Cosmic.
Wanna play games from other regions?

Tough titty, eh?
Why is Ninty so anal about the regional thing? None of their consoles have been region free have they?
I just browsed your report card Dan - you sure have a lot of F's on your games
Not to mention, you have an assload of games on there too - most look to be digital PS Plus games, but damn
The PSP was "shit" until he could emulate it.
And yeah Sony has locked this down tighter than a nun's pants. They are being proactive about it.
Yeaaaaaaah this was sorely needed.
I understand region locking from Japan's perspective. THE SPECTRE OF REVERSE IMPORTATION GARE.
And even the DC required a little cracking, you couldn't just straight copy games like the Sega CD iirc. I mean it still became really easy and an everyone and their grandma is pirating console but still it wasn't deliberately open.
Yeah, Nintendo handhelds never really had region locks before now. I'd wager it's mainly to stop the Japanese from importing games rather than the other way around, though. Games are so expensive in Japan it's insane.
EDIT: Beaten by Gypsy, but yeah.
So as I was playing some more Growlanser III last night I was thinking how much of this game would be DLC now and it frightened me.
Bloop!
