I think I made a tutorial thread explaining how to use them with Winrar a long time ago so I could link that instead of explaining :lol. I guess 7zip dropped the function?

I've mostly used 7-zip for years but don't recall making recoveries :thot:
Might've made .sfv for some stuff at one point though, ages ago.
I actually had one of my external backups fuckup a bit a while ago. I keep backups of my backups nowadays, but of course I copied the files to the secondary backup from my fucking up drive, so I was left with over a TB of iffy data...
Played around for a day with random sfv's and par2's I keep for my own shit, and recovered basically everything. But even in that situation I wouldn't think to look if some random file had a recovery record baked into it.
You can still unzip RAR files using 7zip. Is there even a reason to still use WinRAR? I guess it can be handy, but 7zip is pretty handy too.

First post on new laptop. Too bad they cancelled on me for tomorrow night lol. Oh well. I'm enjoying this laptop a lot.
I remember when I got my laptop as a graduation gift years ago. It was state of the art for its time. Or really good for a laptop. It had a blu-ray drive and a SD card slot, and a dedicated graphics card.
Man I remember when I got mine years ago too lol. My first laptop. Just graduated high school and needed a editing laptop, ended up with a uhhhh...Acer? I think? I remember it was called a Sattelite or something.
Got a Wacom tablet too when I started college, thought it was going to be good for photo editing lol. Eh.
At least I got my Bachelors in Photography out of all that.
When I finished high school we had an IBM 5160 at home, no windows just a DOS machine. At school we had a bunch of Apple IIe's.
Nobody had laptops :lol
I spent $50 on my first laptop, it was used.
Now Im spending $900 on upgrades for my desktop not including a GPU
Yeah the 5160 we had at home and the apples at school were old at that point (1990). But new stuff was expensive back then and not as much of a priority to upgrade like it is now.
I remember those days. Apple Computer is where, I had my first experience with computers. Simpler Times.
I think I first used an Apple II computer in elementary school. Then around 4th grade or so, I remember using computers that had Windows 95/98 on them. I don't know what specs they were.
Spoiler warning:
Oh, I see Tormented Souls available for DL. I was planning on buying that, now I can try before I buy~
Unlikely I will buy it as I can only see the PS5 physical version locally atm.
I'm not even sure what physical versions are available tbh  I'm assuming no Xbox version as a lot of games like this aren't available physical on that platform... Switch I have no idea (some of that stuff is digital only like Alien Isolation), I can only see PS4/5 physical versions elsewhere.
I'm sure there's a Switch physical version, it may not be released yet though. That's what I was eyeing buying.
Well it isn't exclusive so I don't see the point in buying it for a hackable system, but that's just me.
Maybe I might consider buying it physical for Switch if it was dirt cheap new.... I did that for Skyrim.
I also got Axiom Verge but that was because I already had Multiverse Edition just missing the game itself and wanted to complete it (didn't spend much overall but ended up with something of value).
:thot: The only Switch exclusive I have is Deadly Premonition 2, which I got dirt cheap new iirc.
From what I can see maybe 2nd week of April for Switch?
BTW, just in case you got TS PS4 from somewhere random and didn't see the info:
You can access debug menu by using a code via keyboard.
Unless the port is clearly deficient, you generally want to buy the Switch version of anything you're shelling out cash for. They're far more likely to maintain value or spike up to absurd prices, and they're the easiest to actually sell. Nothing against other ports, it's just the way the market has been going.
Yeah it's funny how some ninty platform games can shoot up in price but the system is hacked anyway or there are flash carts.
If you look at Wii U games, AC IV Black Flag is actually worth more than some ninty IP games on that platform
I could probably sell Deadly Premonition 2 for twice the price I paid atm, but if I hang onto it longer it should be worth more as there are still some new copies around.
Axiom Verge ME seems to be increasing in value $)
:lol What is it with ebay sellers having best offer on an auction with no bids and then simply manually rejecting offers.
Standard ebay junk, as Wyrm said . I bid on an auction a while ago and the seller cancelled it. They wanted more but had been relisting for weeks and didn't have a reserve set. They did a fixed price instead of an auction afterward and I've been waiting for them to give up or lower the price.
Before that I made an offer on a book auction only to get declined and then see them sell it for less than I offered them a few days prior >:.
The start bid is over $200, made an offer above that and it wasn't automatically declined. Seller declined it manually sometime later.
Still no bids on it and it has a couple of days left.
Thing is I contacted the seller with some questions before making an offer and his response to my questions was really strange :pwacko:
Might make another offer on the last day if it still doesn't have any bids.
Lots of flooding along the east coast over here (where I am is fine though) so it's a good time to try to get a good deal without having a lot of competition. I know that sounds bad but
What happened to that big game post?
Should have been moved to retro lol.
