Playing Code Veronica on Dolphin. GC version is so much better and easier to emulate vs the DC and PS2 versions. Grabbing the 2nd disc now!!!
DC version isn't X, the other 2 are ports of the original with some changes so slightly different. NGC version was the last port iirc...not including the following gen HD ports obviously.
what internal hdd do ps3 use are they just 2.5" laptop drives?
Yes but they have to be 9.5mm height drives. Probably possible to use newer 7mm drives (usually SSD or hybrid) but I can't confirm that.
You can't use 12mm (or whatever) drives they're too thick and don't fit properly. Some people have made them fit by modifying the tray but I don't recommend doing that.
You can also do a partial ext conversion instead by using sata extension cables, you can even use desktop sata via this method as long as you have another power supply for the drive.
Max capacity is 1TB with no issues for any firmware, some people have got 1.5TB working but it requires some messing about with downgrading to a certain firmware formatting etc but then when you upgrade firmware there are issues if anything goes wrong and you get prompted to do a data integrity check.
Pretty much all the laptop drives I've salvaged from various things over the last year have been 9.5mm, only one that was the larger type is a Samsung 500GB. I just use that as a transfer drive (with a USB adapter) for PS2 & PSP images now. I never bothered setting up ftp I just use USB file transfers.
Yes, but you can't just assume that whatever you're looking to buy is 9.5mm if it doesn't state that. Just be careful is what I'm saying.
