Hmm...yes...I do believe that is my ego slowly fading away zero_chance.
Hehehe. I'll do that to 'ya, sometimes ;).
/me begins plotting the death of Zero-Chance
Do you think you can get me some pointers on inking?
Sure. Specifically, what's bothering you about it? And to note, I don't do cross-hatching, so if you're into that style, I won't be able to help.
WOW nicely drawn zero_chance I am in AWE!!!
Mostly I want to know how you got it so smoothly. A lot of my hand-drawn work scanned straight from paper aren't really good (you can tell my hand isn't so steady).Quote:

I second that.Quote:

Well, steadiness helps. The other trick, is if you screw up, open it up in PSP/Photoshop and fix it :D.Quote:

The other trick is to draw large. 11" x 17" is the standard (I just used two standard pieces of printer paper taped together, I'm too cheap to get expensive artists paper). That makes the lines look sharper once scanned and resized properly, a lot of smaller errors vanish.

My brother is in paradise after seeing these drawings. Neat! Are you goin to colout them?

I was in the middle of colouring the Prowl one, and was actually quite far into it. Then my HD died mysteriously. It'll be a bit before I get back to that one, now.
I can understand trying to make it look neater in Photoshop, but I still have trouble doing that with its paintbrush tool ("B" Hotkey)Quote:

I'm not really experienced in Photoshop. I use Paintshop Pro. I find that its interface is a bit easier. The best thing to know is that holding shift while using a paintbrush-type tool draws a straight line between the point that your mouse last left, and the point where you clicked. Very handy for cleaning up lines. The other thing to practice is using bezier curves. I can't give you any real pointers there. You just have to try it and get a feel for how to control it.
Here's my first (finished) colour work. Some might recognize the Bumblebee character, but the girl is a fanmade character of mine. This was done for an artists challenge over at www.allspark.com.
If you're interested, a bio for her character is here, although I'm sure it won't mean much to those of you who aren't familiar with the franchise.

I've really got to get some non-TF artwork finished, but I'm in the middle of doing some art projects for the various message boards.
I just need a new scanner. Nice coloring job =0,
Yeah, he used to watch it as a kid. :nod:Quote:

Made a billboard for class. The plane was done entirely with the pen tool. Original size is much bigger. Many people told me they felt my oriental influence in this peice. Come to think of it...I do too.

that's really good since you did the plane with the pen tool , still haven't got a hang of the pen tool :\
^ I still use the pencil.. you know, the ones with the graphite? yeah.
Bored.
Sometimes pen looks like pencil.. sometimes it's so much so that it frightens people.
Nice
omg...do i have to see ur freaky pics all over!? Inuyasha one:
You're just easily frightened, that's all. ;)
Brrrr!!!

If I ever see you for real, I'm brining flowers and writing happy messages all over your bedroom wall. It's what I do to all gloomy people.
Heh, i will ready my shotgun then :P ;) :D
I'd like that, actually.. but you'd have to write on the ceiling since my walls are covered in drawings and random pictures.Quote:

by the way, I'm not exactly a gloomy person.
Work makes you free?(Arbeit macht frei) I wonder how that plays into this thread..
Bah! You people remind me why I quit drawing. I was never anywhere near as good as most of those pics. Very nice.
Practice is what makes you perfect- just keep practicing drawing and working on different styles and techniques and you'll eventually turn up with something! :)Quote:

/hates it when artists get discourage and quit drawing because of lack of skill, even though it's there they just don't know it.
Well, in the past few days, I've actually done four drawings. But since I don't have a scanner I can't post em. Maybe this thread inspired me.
I wanta see more of those Transformer pics. Those are unbelievable. Pictures that detailed overwhelm me and cause me to lose interest. Extremely nice.
Be patient. I'm slow as hell :p.Quote:

You've got a damn good reason to be slow with pics like that. All the detailing would take forever.

More Transformers stuff. It's a Megatron redesign, for an art contest hosted by Dreamwave Productions (the ~Canadian *woot*!~ company that manages the Transformers comic book license), over at www.dreamwaveprod.ca.
