my tv does have component I run my ps2 through it but i don't know if it's 480. my monitor has dvi but no hdmi which I think is weird considering it was fairly new (and a good brand) when I bought it.

Easiest way to test would be a game you know can run in progressive scan. Suikoden 4 supports it if you wanted to test. I think you can run uLaunch at 480p (and other resolutions) but I don't remember.
If it's a Sony set there's a lengthy model table on WP:

I think only Hi Scan and SFP supported progressive signals.
If your monitor has DVI you can use that with a passive adapter or a cable.
Something like this should work fine. HDMI into PS3, DVI into monitor.
CPU got here but I'll probably not get it tested today.
You could probably find a HD-TV, and a HDMI cable for not too much. Depending on your budget. 4K TVs/Monitors are still expensive. The ones with built-in speakers are even more expensive.
Yar almost none of the games were native 720p. Like a couple low end sport games and arcade stuff. Same with the 360 I believe. It uses tricks and such to stretch out to run with 720p and up tv's etc.. Look at GTAV it had a weird internal ressy of like 540p or something weird and then just upscales.
There's a whole list on a wiki somewhere.
Probably why Xbox 360 and PS3 games could be played on SD TVs without much problems. Though playing on a HD-TV, even a older cheaper one, it still looks fine in HD. Though playing PS3/Xbox 360 games on a SD TV, the graphics look squished, depending on the size of your TV.
Yar. Some were fine on a tv even a CRT that was capable of 480. Look at res 5 and 6 2 player, they look fine on an older tv in split screen but on a 720p tv and up the split is all fucked up. Weird. I think the internal ressies of a lot of games are set so that if they're multiplied by a certain amount they hold cohesion on higher resolution tv's if that makes sense. On mobile right now so hard to articulate what I'm trying to say.
I used to do that with my ps2 I ran the audio cables through a stereo so I could use my headphones.
what kind of game is that? the game I'd like to play again is far cry 4 that game was awesome the dlc pissed me off though fuck timed content.
Windows 7 installed unattended. Integrated GPU drivers installed fine. Installing a test game now and then going to let a CPU bench run for a while.
ordered that keyboard I was looking at.
I have all the drivers and stuff to run for 7 . The Intel stock crapper included with it is too crappy to leave the CPU-Z stress test running but it was fine until I stopped it at 95deg. Ran through SuperPi once without any trouble. I just found where I stuck Prime95 and I'm going to give that a spin.
Zombie apocalypse. 3rd person action game with driving and some base building, and outposts too. Lots of weapons and such to use, some skill building stuff too. Character recruiting, and you can switch to any character when at your base and head out to look for supllies.
Only testing I could do now would be plunking it in Gyp's computer and I wouldn't want to deal with pulling it after that.
Errr, the only further testing I'd consider doing, I should say .
Shipping will very likely be above $30 but under $50. I won't have an exact price without finding boxes. Please PM your address and I can check stuff.
Tank you vely much :chinese:.
Rebug installed on the PS3 .
Found a junk PSP Go :lol Black, scratches all over it, missing thumb stick module and battery but both appear to have been removed correctly.
Going to source cheap replacement parts to see if it still works. If the screen is fucked I'll replace that too. Wish me luck
Mind the nasty little ribbon cables and it ought to be fine. It looks like they improved the internal layout.

No errors related to the CPU in Windows' event logs.
Repasted and re-ran the tests, temps considerably better (still lame).
They are digital only. If I got one I'd install CFW on it first thing .
I guessed that was probably the case.
One of the spikes on the heatsink is a bit loose (more specifically the plastic bit surrounding the spike). It locks fine once it's in place but you'll want to be careful installing it. It's puny so it shouldn't be any trouble.
