If you have a PS2 style joypad then yes. I also believe FFXII is compatible with PCSX2 as well. :)

Me too. ;__; Mine had the most ridiculously translated tags at first. Even I could see that they were wrong. <_<; So I just retagged it with what was listed on amazon.jp.

The gameplay wasn't especially dumbed down to me. Just not really as fun. It had a different feel to the Playstation one, certainly, but I think that was more down to the fact that it had a completely different director than it was down to the choice of platform. Heck there's a Tactics Ogre game on the GBA, and the original FF Tactics was basically just a Tactics Ogre game in Final Fantasy clothes. Same development team etc... So there's no reason Square couldn't have put out another game in the same vein as the PS1 one had they wanted to. They probably just felt like taking the series in a different direction.
