It'll be free but I wouldn't complain if I got reimbursed down the line :revwacko:. It's a Razer Naga Epic. I've had to clean the switches and the rubberized coat is on the way out but other than that it's fine.

I have the previous version of the mouse in a drawer (got it for $1). I have several mice lying around, the most recent is a Deathadder 3.5G I got for around $12.

To Razer's credit, they used a better coating and it isn't the sort that deteriorates into a gummy mess. Rubberized can be nice but you have to clean it frequently and not forget and leave it sitting for a while like I did :lol. If a company cheaps out on the rubber it'll go to crap no matter what you do.

had to look that up. looks pretty nice and sounds like it's a decent sized mouse. I'm a little disappointed by the last one I bought, I bought a wireless HP mouse it works fine but it's a little smaller than my wired HP mouse so it's just a little bit uncomfortable still not as bad as that piece of crap unbranded one I bought years ago. that thing was a tiny piece of shit I ended up breaking it and throwing it away.

I haven't had any trouble that couldn't be worked around with their mice. It's a shame they moved away from standalone drivers and configuration software. The nice thing about Razer is that you can get a lot of older models for next to nothing because there are a ton floating around :lol.

The downside is now you need Synapse for anything new. I read that you can get the config. files for offline use with the Synapse 2 supported peripherals but I don't have anything that's Synapse 2+ only to confirm with. Any of the mice with onboard memory would be fine since you could set it up once and be done and only lose macro usage without SW.

needing software to use a mouse is stupid.

well what to do now. go back to grinding in FO2 or record a game video hmm

It's only a requirement for additional features. If you only want default binds or it has onboard memory then you don't need it. My annoyance with modern mice is that the software has gotten bloated beyond belief. Synapse I dislike because it's online junk :disgust:.

A lot of these mice should have onboard memory and a chip capable of driving the features for their asking prices. Onboard memory seems to be the best you get though :shrug:.

The Naga Epic's config software has never passed 10mb as far as I'm aware. Corsair's new cue software eats hundreds of MBs and can really chug CPU. The oldest version I could find (which would work acceptably) uses about 50 - 60 and behaves fine after initial startup. Same deal on memory with Logitech's software, though not as extreme.

If they do offer it you at least get static binds which is probably sufficient for most people since I haven't seen complaints.

I've thought about it but I get pretty bad lag spikes while recording atari 2600 games. you can actually see this in some of my videos this is also one reason why I've been putting off doing other systems(like nes or gb) the 2600 games also mostly fit my channels theme.

Are you recording to a separate drive?

I'd guess it's a CPU spike if it's sporadic. If that's the case, use HW encoding with your video card if that's available.

it is and I am using HW encoding with my video card I also only have the recording software and emu running and nothing else.

Flash drive might be the issue if it can't handle sustained speeds as high as the bitrate. Bitrate divided by eight is MB/s. I wouldn't think that would be an issue unless it's old or junky though.

umm yeah I very likely could be the flash drive it is pretty old and it's not a very good brand but better than the chinese garbage of today.

There was only a standard parcel option at checkout so I'm not at fault. Anyway, some sellers only have that option on $100+ items but obviously do provide tracking and most probably get insurance for their own piece of mind (auspost only covers up to $100 without insurance if something is lost).

Generous of your post. USPS used to be nice about insurance claims but wankers abused it and they're strict now. Every method here provides tracking aside from letter mail and that still gets tracked internally.

You should be able to specify whatever you like. For content like Atari you can get away with a lot less bitrate. The more complicated the image the more bitrate you'd want but the hosts will re-encode anyway so there's a point where it wouldn't matter anyway.

If it runs without issues I'd try bumping the bitrate by 1000kpbs until you have them again and then dial it back one.

ok gotcha I'll have to do trial and error that'll also make things a bit more tedious but meh not like I have anything better to do with my time.
so I tried upping the bitrate by 1000 it wasn't doing bad but I did get some lag spikes while playing the game I also noticed frame rate drops and an encoding overload messages. I reviewed the recording and noticed frame rate issues in the video that were not present while I was playing and recording.
I am going to try lowering the bitrate from the default(2500) and see how that goes.

Anybody here know much about PC Engine controllers?

Wondering if Avenue pad 6 is worth spending more money on over Avenue pad 3? :shrug:

That seems like a waste of time to me, I'd never attempt to play a fightn' gaem on the PCE. I dunno if there's any other use for a 6 button controller on the system...

I can ask Gyp :revwacko:. He says it's a good controller but it doesn't matter unless you'll be playing Street Fighter or similar games.
