so close to that last emerald.
I already played the original Deus Ex years ago on the PS2. I doubt I'd ever replay it, but it was a fantastic game.
Sonic 2 is beaten once again.
But this time, I couldn't get all the emeralds. :(
Stupid tails.
Goodnight everybody. Sleep well.
I've watched way too many kid's shows today. :doink:
But I did just pick up $40 worth of PSN cards for $27. So I'm happy. :]
Considering how much most games cost to make, and how little most companies actually make off their games, they are understandable. Even with Triple A titles like Battlefield 3 and Uncharted 3, where you know they are making their money back and then some, people are still going to be playing those games on multiplayer long after the company is making any money off the sales of the games, and when it becomes a money sink for them to continue to maintain the servers. A year from now, both of those titles will probably be selling used in the $25-$35 range. But while they aren't making any money off them, the online servers still have to be maintained.
Not all of those companies handle the servers themselves, though. Activision owns the subsidiary Demonware (although I'm not sure if they bought them out or if they created them). They then have Demonware continue to maintain those servers. With games like Guitar Hero, micro transactions of songs and whatnot would help fund the costs, but when people aren't buying anything online, you still have to contribute something. It's times like those when I understand the online pass system.
The money doesn't go straight into the developer's back pocket. It goes to maintaining the service.
I originally used the term "outsourcing" in this post, then removed it because I didn't think it was right. Further digging (ie., more than 3 seconds on Google) tells me that the term really is correct. Activision purchased Demonware to handle their servers about four years ago, in an effort to reduce development costs and server maintenance costs.
The glory of Gamespy.
DLC can't be shared, right?
Does Uncharted 3 have the online pass bollocks?
Yeah I heard they're going to be putting it in all their games in the future. No idea if Uncharted 3 is one of them though...
I'm convinced the 360 version of Brutal Legend is harder than the PS3 version.
On the PS3, I finished the game without too many annoying trouble spots, and without going out of my way to get special moves or upgrades. On the 360, Ophelia keeps kicking my ass at The Sea of Black Tears. I guess I'll have to back out of the mission and go visit the Motor Forge. -_-

Just for the amusing end.
Somehow, I have managed to get poison ivy again -_-
I mean seriously...it's November.
Who gets poison ivy in November!?
