Played Call of Duty 3 earlier tonight on the PS2. Meh. It's okay. Typical CoD mechanics. Nothing really too special. :\

I really liked it a lot (CoD3) after playing some FPS's I liked the battle system. :) (I haven't played the 360 version, though) but I really liked those cutscenes where you have to fend a german soldier away using button commands, it's sort of refreshing compared to just "hide-shoot-continue-repeat" :P
Well since I got my new PS2, I've been playing tons of NCAA Football 2007 and Armored Core 2 ;-)
I'm still working my way through CoD2, and it's kinda slow and... repetitious compared to the first game. :| I still remember the awesome, amazing, kickass, great moments on CoD1, like the first level of the russian compaign, the car level in the american campaign where you sat in the passenger seat of a little german car and shot at germans chasing you down and ran from tanks and explosions and shit and the other guys in teh car kept yelling at each other... fun times. The only thing that's come close to being that memorable was the D-day level so far in CoD2.
I just got some time in with Final Fantasy XII, and I must say, this game is GREAT. Everything about it. It's like, an updated version of Vagrant Story. :D
Michael, that's because Matsuno-san kicks ASS!! :O!
Oh, I know THAT! It's just that I found his diary 'til AFTER I started slaughtering corpses out of boredom... :wacko:Quote:

Rise of Legends (PC)
I've just started playing Breath of Fire 3. It's going to take awhile to get used to the 3D perspective though.
Hmm.. me and my brother discussed this awhile ago..
The summons weren't called Espers in FFVII, were they?
No...they were called Summons, I think Espers are only on FFVI and a friend says that in XII as well.
Pogo Island DS (E), it has 5 games from pogo.com, and the tokens you earn can be transfered to your pogo.com account via wifi.
Hitman: Blood money, poorly. :( I don't have a shader 2.0 video card. It looks about as good as Hitman 1, and runs at around 1-7 FPS.
I tried to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R., because the dev's website says the minimum is a 9200 video card, but it's graphics glitch out. :|
I just installed the 1.2 patch for Hitman: Blood Money. :D It looks about Hitman 2 level of graphics, and runs fantastic. I dunno why IO interactive didn't remark the minimum requirements to remove the shader requirements after that patch, cause this works great. Everything but the typical shader effects work (lights and shadows, shiny stuff, etc.).
<3 IO Interactive, <3 Hitman.
I just finished Yoshi's Island DS... It was good for the most part. I'll be playing more FFXII soon!
Currently replaying Popful Mail (the Sega CD one). Such a cute little game. ^_^
If someone comes home, Wii Sports or Guitar Hero I/II.
If I'm alone, FF XII (I rescued Basch from the prison and it's time to go back to Rabanastre)
I'm playing Metal Slug Anthology on the Wii. This is yet another game I wish I hadn't bought. Not because it's not a great game, but because for some reason, they made every single control scheme available suck huge amounts of ass. You can't even use the classic controller! WTF?
I'm really disappointed with the Wii lineup overall thus far. Don't get me wrong, the console is still great, full of potential and all that, it's just that by and large, it's potential that is as of yet unmet. I do hope Nintendo and the third party developers get their shit together quickly, because they're onto something here, and truly have the chance to shine if they make the right moves.
Wii: Cooking Mama
PS2: Beatmania IIDX Happy Sky
360: Just finished Def Jam Icon.
Beatmania IIDX Happy Sky, eh? Sweet. I didn't know that there were any Beatmania players 'round these parts. What's your preferred playing method?
I agree with everything you say. Especially abotu Metal Slug Anthology for the Wii. I mean, Metal Slug are arcade games, not stuff you are supposed to play with a "weird" simple controller. You are supposed to have perfect control. The Wii version has so far from perfect control as possible. The PSP version is a little better, but considering the craptastic directional pad on PSP, that too is dissapointing. If you can't even use the classic pad, Wii is not a console for arcade games. Not at all. I mean, try speedrunning Metal Slug 3 with the Wii-mote :P
They should atleast make it optional for the controller setups. It basically sounds like a case of over complicating something that should be simple enough :\
Agreed. But anyway, look at SNK Playmore. Even though they didn't handle Anthology in-house (they are the responsible ones for their licenses anyays), they are extremely unstable with their quality. Look at King of Fighters XI (one of the best fighters ever - no kidding), then look at Metal Slug 6 (they should be ashamed of that game compared to Mslug 1-3). Never expect to get great stuff from them right now, but be happy when you actually do get great games from them, cause that happens once in a while too ;)
No doubt. The only control scheme in the Wii version that's even remotely workable is the one where you hold the controller sideways, and even that requires you to flick the controller to throw grenades. It doesn't sound all that bad, but in practice it's not as fluid as it needs to be.
I'm considering taking both this and TP in and trading them, as Gamestop has a deal in which you trade in two Wii games and get one for free. It's not actually a deal as far as I can tell, as I'd probably get slightly more trade by trading them both in seperately, but even so, I'm tempted. The only issue lies in what game I'd get in return. And seeing as after trading those two games in I'd be left with just one, I really need to be convinced that I can get something worthwhile in the trade.
Maybe I ought to trade these two towards Super Paper Mario and be content with the VC stuff in the meantime. What do you guys think?
I'm honestly not sure that was an option at the time the game was released. I'm not sure, but yeah, they could've held off releasing the game until CC support was added or something if that was the case. The game is great, but severely crippled by overcomplicated controls.
Oh, I tried using the one in which the Wii-mote acts like a joystick, and boy did that control scheme suck donkey balls. @_@
I've got Hitman: Blood Money perfected, and I'm on the Whitehouse level. Minimum System Requirements: 0, Me: 2. :D
Playing (PC) Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.
