Is the orb dark-based? I can't remember... But if it is, you should use a Holy-based weapon. If, for some reason, you wish to kill Richter, use a dark-based weapon instead...
"dark-based"? I think I know what you mean....some of the gear will say "+2 against undead", etc. I never really pay attention to that in these games, heh. I am using a two-handed sword that deals the most damage.
Actually, I'd rather not kill Richter....have I got to? From what I have read/heard, doesnt his demise 'open up' the 'Inverted Castle'?
Beats me...
What is that GBA one called? The one thats the 'companion' to SOTN? 'Harmony of Despair' or something like this....?
I NEED to get that ROM....I love that (first?) GBA game nearly as much as SOTN...
If you're still using Estoc, try swapping for a faster weapon so it'll be easier to dodge. I can't think of what I'd use there off the top of my head. Holy Sword/Rod maybe?
Dark based would be something like Tyrfing (or Mormegil? Whatever it's called). The flavor text will say it's a dark sword of some sort. Not the one that has -30 attack.
As for killing Richter, killing him gives you the "bad" ending, winning without killing him opens the inverted castle.
GBA ones are Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, and Aria of Sorrow. None are directly related, though. Harmony of Despair is the multiplayer one on PS3/360.
Raype, I seeeee.....thanks, man. I think I get it.....destroy the 'possesor', not Richter, himself?
Just checked, found:
GBA Harmony of Dissonance
GBA Aria of Sorrow
GBA Circle of the Moon
DS Order of Ecclesia
DS Dawn of Sorrow
DS Portrait of Ruin
So then, SOTN included, there are seven of these beauties.....wow....I'm sure I missed a couple, somewhere..
I was playing one a while back, unsure of the system, but the opening scenes looked and sounded like an 'anime' from the Fox Kids' Network; turned me straight-off... Also, played a couple for PS2. One was ok, but the other was sooooo boooorrrrrring...it became so friggin repetitive I thought that the game had glitched..ughh..
Cola, thanks! I love me some Estoc, though! Yup...I have several 'Holy' weapons...I'll try 'em. :1up:
Spoiler alert.
That old queen Drac smashes a wine glass at Richter during the beginning of the game...what a catty bitch!
I'll be needing any that I might be missing from the GBA/DS libraries...
Man, someone needs to do a proper film adaptation of Castlevania. Not too many CG effects, mostly make-ups, costume, and latex/rubber animatronic creatures. ONLY use the CG for things like magical transformations and creatures that would be far too difficult to do in-camera. Classical soundtrack, of course, though I can hear 'Holy Diver' playing during certain scenes...and they should find a way to work Dante (Devil May Cry) into the film, as well!! Ok, ok...I'm done.. :smokin:
Simon Belmont: Jim Caviezel
Richter Belmont: Chris Hemsworth
Alucard: Adrien Brody
Hammer: Ving Rhames
Maria Renard: Liv Tyler
Dracula: Ray Stevenson
...etc.....etc...
:4x:
Spiders, I agree 100000%. I remember salivating over the PC Engine game art, years back....never got a Turbo-Duo, though..
( s'all good...I have Rondo of Blood on my PSP...)
Help?
Just saw an offer for an X-Box 360. Guys, fill me in, please:
I asked the guy about the GB size, he replied "Oh, it aint got a hard drive so you cant save yer game, but you can use a USB or a flash drive on it..." I asked what 'Model' it is, "Its one of the first ones, its white." Everything work well, any problems to report? "No problems at all, man, we played it just the other night." Any games/accessories? "Three controllers and three games; NHL, Mortal Kombat vs. DC, and NBA Jams."
$55 is the standing offer.
Well?
Ah....that shoddy, eh? ...Even for $55, with three games??
Damn....from what you guys have been telling me about the current consoles, I'm hesitant with my $$$....
Put it this way, which of the 'big three' is the STURDIEST? I'm beginning to think that these systems are like wine flutes..
;)
The current models of all three should be fine. Buy new and I'd be very surprised if you had a problem with any of them.
If you're shopping for used consoles, then in order of most reliable to least reliable it arguably goes Wii, PS3, 360. The old 360s were notorious for overheating, in part due to a poorly designed internal layout (graphics card directly underneath the DVD drive ). With current revisions they're a lot more efficient, run cooler in general and if you install games to the hard drive you'll obviously reduce the heat considerably.
(If it helps put things into perspective I've had a Wii since launch, PS3 since 2008 and 360 since last year. Never had a problem with any of them so far, knock on wood.)
Ah - Thanks, mate.
Oddly, the Wii is the cheaper of the three. Are there 'Gig' Models when it comes to the Wii, as well, or did Big N keep it simple?
Also, not to stereotype Nintendo's style, but are there any games of an 'adult' nature? Not military stuff, I mean horror/ghostly/aliens/monsters/occult/etc.... ?
:4x:
If you're serious about wanting a 360 then look out for a slim or a Jasper (most reliable revision of the fat consoles)
Chances are, if you have to ask if Nintendo has any games "for you", you're probably not in Nintendo's target audience as far as the Wii is concerned.
Also, you don't really need those huge HDD storage options for the wii. There's no install or huge DLC packs and the marketplace games are quite tiny. HDD use is pretty much purely for piracy. Which is why you won't find a Wii bundled with a fuckhuge HDD the way you will the other systems.
Don't waste your money on a Wii. It's fun for a while, but then you get tired of flapping your arms around. The motion controls are just tacked on as a gimmick, and the same games are better with traditional controls. The exclusives might be ok, but they're all rehashes of old games.
*stares at Red Wii in the corner
I would play it more If I had more games.
You've got them all.
Also, http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Ca...nia:_The_Movie if it ever actually gets made.
Biggest issue is the use of lead-free solder, since leaded solder is illegal in "children's toys" manufactured in China.
Wii is the cheapest, but it's also the least powerful. And less powerful generally translates to more reliable with electronics.
There are actually a decent number of adult-oriented games. I've heard good things about No More Heroes, and there's an Oneechanbara game for the Wii, if you're into gratuitous boobs and blood and mediocre gameplay. Both are hack and slash games. There are plenty of other games that aren't particularly adult oriented, but are still enjoyable.
hey hangout!
All Wii consoles have 512MB internal flash memory, with space for SD cards. The new Wii's aren't backward compatible any longer, so if you get an older version (before this year) you have the entire GC library to pick from as well.
As for games, RE4 came out on the Wii, and there's an iteration of of House of the Dead.
I wish there were more Wii games that actually pique my interests.
Then it wouldn't stay there, unplayed forever.
WHY DON'T YOU BRING XENOBLADE OVER, NINTENDO?!?!?!?! Fuck you, Reggie.
At least there's my Dreamcast.

There you go, now stop being a little bitch.
Spoiler warning:
Downloaded 7 1/2 gigs of music today, to replace what I...um...lost.
