The best you're going to get is the 161-in-1 cartridge. Which is a steal @ ~$75-100. It doesn't have every NeoGeo game on it, but it does have quite a few. Also there's quite a few hack ROMS on it. So after you take those into account you're left with roughly 80+ original NG games. All the Metal Slugs, except 5. All the Samurai Showdowns and KoFs. With a lot of the sports games thrown in as well. For the price it's much cheaper than buying all the games on it in cart form. Although it has it's little nuances. A few of the games are buggy. Having frame-lag, missing/off-tone SFX/Music, or even game-ruining bugs. Such as Aero Fighters 3 which has a bug where the bullets get stuck in the top half of the screen. With all of it's faults it still a worthwhile purchase for someone looking to play NG games on real hardware on the cheap. :nod:

Yeah, you tell me this after you try out some games on the real hardware. :-P It might be "accurate" but it's not exact. Maybe if MAME had the accuracy equivalence of say the BSNES Super Nintendo emulator. Then I'd be convinced. Although I could imagine the required specs to play such an emulator would be fairly high.

To be fair arcades have been dead in the US for a long ass time. Maybe you could find some in Cali or some gigantic city somewhere else in the country. :shrug:

Arcades can now be found in any rinky dink town coin laundry place... I saw a metal slug 4 or 5 cabinant in one in Mt Holly, North Carolina.


If you live in south Florida on the 826 where the 836 intersects, there is a mall called "Mall of Americas" there is a decent sized arcade there and they host fighting game tournaments.

Big mall arcades are sweet, but there aren't many left here.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the damn USPS mis-delivered one of my packages. It was to arrive last Saturday, but it never did. It was only a copy of PSO for DC. Being that it was only $10 I was going to write it off. I guess it got accidentally delivered a block up from where I live. The guy who lives there came by my house today and dropped my package off. Made my day. :D

Awesome that you got it, really dumb that stuff like that occurs. They have been having all kinds of crazy shit happen with my packages the last few days but at least since it's just being delivered to my PO box it can't end up at someone else's house.

You're mistaking "playing perfect" with "being the exact same as the original games." I'm not disputing that the games play well, but not all of the games are emulated the exact same as their originals. If you're not looking for perfect emulation, then it's fine, but some of us are purist and extremely picky.

The fact that you even have to overclock the CPU through your settings just to get all of the games to "run perfectly" kind of attests to this.
