Seriously, look at a periodic table. The chalcogens include sulfur, selenium, and tellurium, all of which are compared unfavorably to garlic (for good reason - garlic odor comes from a mixed cocktail of several sulfides). The lightest chalcogen...oxygen. The only reason aerobic life on Earth doesn't notice with oxygen is because everyone on Earth lives in an atmosphere filled with the stuff from birth to death. Presumably, if you could sniff polonium without pulling a Litvinenko, it'd probably smell the same way too. :angel:
