Hmmm, think I might have found the elusive FFX NES hack (FF2 hacked with FF10 content, created by Japanese fans over 15 years ago).
I've got like 4x nes roms (they might all be betas idk) and a windows version :wacko:

Grabbed some info and around a dozen screenshots, plus a couple of gifs.

from what I've seen not many games have drm removal patches just no cd patches(unless it's a gog release) the odd thing is I had a game(monopoly junior) running fine the other day when I installed it but then when I tried to run it yesterday it kept telling me to put the cd in the drive(even though the disc was mounted)
and I didn't find a no cd patch for it so I deleted it(I really only wanted to check it ot since I only played the physical version of junior like once)

Which version of Winblows are you running again? Is it 8?

There's an Elden Ring demake for Game Boy but it isn't a complete game (maybe 2 areas?).

The craziest thing I've seen (for real hardware anyway) is Myst Atari 2600... just proof of concept and tbh it looks horrible :lol

There's a version of No Man's Sky made for Pico-8 called Low Mem Sky.

There are some more of those recreation demake videos around but they don't always have a game that can be played.
Some others like Bloodborne PSX are playable, but only on windows (that isn't an actual PS1 game unfortunately).

The vids are just an exercise in retro art from what I can tell.
The windows based demakes are a nice idea, but honestly I prefer demakes for actual old hardware myself. Even if they're unfinished or buggy.

I'm kinda pissed I wanted to play C&C tiberium sun firestorm yesterday but I have to install a patch to fix submenus not loading but in order to do that I have to install the 2.03 patch but I couldn't install the 2.03 because of an error telling me the registry ini file is missing or invalid so I ended up deleting it.
I also tried grabbing a rip version of tiberium sun but it turned out to be a russian version :fist:

I've been looking for RE2 Marvin's mod aka Desperate Times but can only find PC version.
If it was just Capcom then you think they would nuke all PC mods too, but it's mods for consoles that can disappear quickly (PS1 especially, DC mods seems to stick around)... so I'm guessing Capcom is being Sony's bitch?
