I just finished reading The Return of the King a couple of days ago. It's a very good book. Read it before you watch the movie.
I'd like to marry you. =)Quote:

alistair Maclean~the last frontier
nice book....alistair maclean is the kind of writer you can't have too much at the same time....you then can easily see through his plots.this particular book had me hooked...but that's generally the case if you get a good maclean after a while:P
Not reading anything at the moment. I'm getting my local library to find me a copy of 'The Time Machine' by H.T Wells. The movie was good so I want to read the book.
The Wheel of Time books by Robert Jordan are pretty much the last thing I read. They are long and filled with much philosophy throughout the story.
You said you'd marry me! :P ;)Quote:

Err...to stay on topic, I read 'High Fidelity' by Nick Hornby recently. Quite liked the film, so figured I'd give it a read. Not bad actually ^^
'X Therapy' by Leareth
Gods, that's a messed up fanfic...
Way to go on Return of the King. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy in the books is far superior to the movies XD
perhaps so...but the movies are amazing in their own right:D
anyway back to books:
shogun~james with a surname i keep forgetting
tooooo good...i'm sure many of you have read this novel.i tried reading gai-jin,but i was so sickened by the part when that guy cuts the girl's whatevers, that i couldn't go on....
I read Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy the other day. Very good novel. =)
Edward Said w/David Barsamian - The Pen and The Sword
Edward Said - Culture and Imperialism
alistair maclean~hms ulysses
this the 2nd time i'm reading it...it's one of my favourite titles by A.M.this was his first novel, and has a very powerful narrative style:)
Across the nightingale floor, by Lian Hearn.
:ninja:
Just read a Labyrinth fanfic. I won't give the name because it's the most sickening, twisted thing I've ever read and don't think anyone should read it.
the last book i am still reading right now is harry potter the second year i actually own all the books and find them really intriguing to read and quite interesting!!:bounce:
In My Line of Work by Leareth
I read All Quiet on the Western Front.... who else has read that book?
It's been a while, but I have.
I'm reading Piers Anthony's Xanth series. And y'know? I'm coming to realize just what a hack the guy really is. I used to be a huge fan of his work when I was a teen, but now that I've since read far better books, I realize just how hackneyed he really was as a writer. His books are formulaic, and they go out of thier way to explain even the most rudimentary of things to you, as if you were brain-dead. Ugh. I can't wait till I can track down a copy of Stephen King's 'Wolves of the Calla'. :)
i love stephen king books all his books are really good books to read and i also read danielle steel books too i am a sucker for romance books *lol* :hypo:Quote:

pg woodhouse~psmith in the city
well,it's a nice change from the jeeves series...with the same amount of hilarity involved.it's my first psmith, and i wasn't dissapointed, worth a try for anyone, whether you're new to psmith or woodhouse himself:nod:.
I recently read "Illusions" by Richard Bach. I really, really recommend people read his works, especially "Jonathan Livingston Seagull", "Illusions" and "One".
If you read them with an open mind, they'll change your outlook on life, guaranteed.
Hehe, right now, I'm hooked on this autobiographical story about the Cold War. It's called I Should Have Died, by Phillip Deanne. It's certainly interesting enough to hold my interest. Well, maybe it's because I like reading/learning about the Cold War.
That sounds interesting, I've always enjoyed reading about the Cold War. Well, that among other wars, but still, a unique situation.
De Kleine Johannes - Frederik van Eeden, old Dutch book, from about 1870 or so. It's a book about a little boy, life, and the choices we have to take.
Heh, I don't think I've ever read anything profound, or life-altering. Nor have I read anything that's made me think about myself or the world around me. And very often, I think that those who have only do so because someone's told them to, and that when they have, they hardly understand what it is they've read.
I guess I'm easy to entertain, which is why I'll pick up a Stephen King or Dean Koontz novel over any philosophical piece of work. If I'm forced to think and use my imagination, I'd rather be doing so with a book that offers me worlds and situations as far removed from my own as possible.
Ey
Well what i last read would have to be Cyber's last post:P
thats about it really.
Im currently reading Spine of the World by R.A. Salvatore, quite a good book so far...

Well the book im reading just now is called Eye's Of The Dragon: Stephen King:D
Im reading Tom Clanceys Rainbow six, but its over 600 pages long with very small print, its gonna take me a looong time to finish
I like that one. =) Wulfgar was always my favorite character, I'm glad he focused more on him for a while. Then he goes back to Drizzt & Artemis with Servant of the Shard and all that, but Salvatore is an awesome artist... the group he's got going is wonderful. Read "A Thousand Orcs" when you're finished with those. =) Yeah.Quote:

@Grape Crush: Rainbow Six only took me a few days. I think about 4... not really that long of a novel, although it is intimidating.
Well, as you know, I finish The Thousand Orcs last week, and two days ago I began reading The Dark Elf trilogy. When I finish that, I will resume reading from the beginning of Salvatore's works afore I continue with The Hunter's Blades.
I'm currently flipping through a biography on Hitler.
