I just don't like to emulate. I get that you can perfectly do it and shit but it's just not my thing. I like playing with the actual console with the original controller. I'm a slut.

Who says I'm not using an original controller hooked up to the PC. But yeah I get what you mean.
ALL THE ADAPTERS.
Yay for youtube. This newish Local H is fantastic. It's like entering a way back machine.
I'm outta here, gonna play some Unreal over LAN.
YES. ISN'T SCIENCE GREAT.
Later Gyp.
Agreed, though I think it's equal parts the direction the industry is heading and the fact we're just getting older. I even remember people being underwhelmed by the PS2 at launch.
That said, I'm kind of bummed that at some point within the past few years the "games are as valid an entertainment form as movies" argument suddenly turned into "games need to behave as much like movies as possible."
Have you seen the chinese chick in resident evil dead aim?
Cripes shes hot
I don't think it has anything to do with me getting older, I can be excited about exciting shit just fine. It's just that they aren't showing any. Also, every time I think of the mainstream gaming industry of recent years, this image pops into my head. It's just too perfect.
Yeah, I'm getting that vibe as well. Remember, more polygons = more emotions.
Still cant beat the hotness that is........................
Spoiler warning:
My legs, they hurt
Swung by the post office today and picked up my copy of Phantasy Star III(Korean). It's in surprisingly good shape, and thankfully it looks legit and not a bootleg or something. It's official now though, my Phantasy Star shelf is completely full.
I wish they made phantasy star 4 on the sega cd like they originally intented, woulda been hell of alot better but still a great game.
Probably my all-time favorite Phantasy Star game. I even have a couple copies of the Famicom port. Which is surprisingly fairly good...well okay, it's horrible, but at least it's an original and not a romhack.
I really wish that Sega would've remade PS 3&4 for their Sega Ages 2500 PS2 line. Like they did with PS 1&2.
For me it would've been especially cool to see them right everything that was so wrong with PSIII. Is it too much to ask for Sega to make a new single-player Phantasy Star adventure that takes place in the actual Algo star system. I guess I can always dream... :revwacko:
Yeah, I backread that you've been going after a nursing degree. How's that going?
I've been pretty good, just working, playing video games and adding to my ever growing game collection. :D Currently I've been doing some custom painted NES consoles. I had so many I figured I'd better start doing something with them. :P
Haven't played any COD since MW2. Actually haven't really been playing any online FPSs as of late. My blood pressure thanks me for it too. I did hear that BLOPS2's Nazi Zombie mode was pretty fun though. I have been playing some Dead Islnad: Riptide with the roomy lately though. It's pretty fun for some multiplayer zombie killin' fun.
Speaking of Phantasy Star...I got a Genny again along with the Saturn I picked up, so it's gonna be Phantasy Star tiemmmmm soon.
Hell yeah man. :top:
Still trying to get my hands on a copy of Sega Ages 2500 Phantasy Star Complete Collection for a decent price. It has Japanese and English versions of all four original games on it. As well as an option to increase walking speed in PS2&3. Also I might be wrong, but I think they might've even tweaked the encounter rates to be a bit more fair as well.
I'm quickly remembering how big of a money pit the Saturn is. I traded $30 worth of games I got with it (that I don't want) for an action replay, then I had to dump money for the 3D controller and then I looked up all the US games I'm going to want (I kept my imports from last time) and just kind of wept quietly. At least I traded the other games I got with it (4 total) for $150 worth of games (mainly psp and ps2). I honestly just wish it had come with some stuff I was interested in but I guess when you get the console for $5 and some semi-valuable (in terms of Saturn games) games for $1 each complete in VG-EX condition you can't complain too much...
It's also going to cost me about $100 to whore out all my sega consoles for this video scaler. It's also going to take physical work, for instance for the Saturn I have to get a European cord and solder it with a US cord. Apparently it's the tits though so I'm going for it, and I'm going for a custom Dreamcast VGA box.
I still need to fix my PS4 battery lol
Yeah, it works great. I play all my Genesis games through it using composite. Which gives a much better picture than playing than through composite on just the Genesis. I really just need to start getting Scart cables for all the retro consoles that I can though. PSIV through RGB->Component on my 32" CRT.
Damn I really want to fix PSIV, but my priorities lie with the DS moneysink
My moneysinks are of a lower range than yours, Gypsy.
I have a couple really good Sony ones. My dream is to find one of these: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=43256
Also, I got Phantasy Star Portable 2 today in case you don't check the purchase thread. It made me so happy.
The main issue with that TV of course is finding it locally. I'd happily pay $200-250 for it but E-bay is a bit more but more importantly I get nervous with stuff like that being shipped because other people are usually horrible at packing. Plus shipping would seriously be around $100.
