Konami showed two MGS4 "trailers" at TGS. One was the real MGS4 trailer and the other was a sequel to the E3 MGS4 teaser. Titled Metal Gear Raiden: Snake Eraser, it shows Raiden once again trying to snatch the main character role from Solid Snake. The trailer is not available for download, but it will be included as a bonus material in MGS3: Subsistence.

Someone uploaded a recording from TGS. It's really bad quality, but atleast you can see what happens... As the "trailer" is in Japanese I will tell you the key events of if.
Last time we saw Raiden (the E3 MGS4 trailer) he tried to get the main character role for MGS4. Snake manage to snatch it but Raiden has a plan. If he travels back in time and kill Big Boss, Snake will cease to exist and Raiden himself will become the main character!
Halfway through the trailer Raiden is about to kill Big Boss. But he can't kill the man that saved him (watch the trailer)... So instead he decides to directly kill Solid Snake.
In the end though, Raiden failed... Rose is there trying to cheer him up telling him that maybe he can't be the main character for MGS4 but what about 5? It sounds like a hint that MGS5 will eventually be released and that Raiden will be the star of the game. :P
Meh... I take it as a joke, but of course it's possible if Mr. X* decides to go through with it...

I just read an interview with The Man (AKA Hideo Kojima). He said that everything in the MGS4 trailer was in real time and the game will look just as good when it is released sometime next year (w00t!).
He also said that Snake won't die. :nod:

It seems the game might not be released next year... Looks like it was the interviewer who added a comment about how that the game will look just as good as in the trailer when it will be released next year. So no official words... :cry:
No matter, I still personally wouldn't doubt the power of the PS3. The thing that's been amped up the most is the details factor and sharper rendering. The current generation really got things looking solid, now they're basically being refined.
As for the release date... Well it'll come out eventually. I never trust those things anymore as they're wildly inaccurate. At least with these freelance developers who make emulators and such, they tell it to ya straight: "When will the next version come out?" "We don't know. Sit tight."
Oh well. As long as they keep pumping out trailer for all the big gaming conventions, I couldn't care less about the release. Just give me a new trailer! :wacko:
Well I do appreciate that Kojima is at least being straightforward with his next gen title. I mean, look at FF XII and it's limited showing. And that's not even for the PS3! Hope SE gets it together on that one...
Maybe we'll get a beefy preview of some sort by.... The middle of '06? When is the PS3 rumored to come out in the US anyway? That's been on my mind.
PS3 will be released next year, that's for sure. Early 06 Spring release in Japan apparently.
