Your point being? I don't think anyone was arguing that particular point. Someone asked if consoles could emulate a PC, and GundamGuy showed how it could be done. :)

first off when i said he i didnt mean u

and secondly why would i buy the hdd for linux i got a pc to do all my pc stuff and i dont play online on console cuz they charge too much

o and the ps2 only emulates one of 3 consoles from last gen it cant run the n64 or the dreamcast

Again the answer to you question is Yes it can. Is it cost effecent, or pratical to do so.. well not really, but you did not ask those questions.

Also, im sure the PS2 can emulate old apples, i dont see why they would not be able to, that would be a PC.

I dont know, but i would guess that the PS2 could emulate a N64, albeit not very well, but it should be able to.

BTW the Dreamcast is the current gen being the last system Sega has produced.

ok i know for a fact that the ps2 cant do n64 and as for doing ps1 well its not really emulating it since its ment to play it not to mention its same technology

as for emulating pc they might be able to but not even a low end one of todays standards the xbox itself is a p3@700MHz

Well we r talking about different technology here!May the x-box run with a 700 mhz processor but its the hell better than a 700 mhz processor for a pc.Also the risc technology provided for consoles may seem to have lower potencials but it doesnht...

Okay sorry, my point was that the xbox is an unorigional use of already existing hardware, the PS2 and gamecube (and I believe most of the consoles before them) actually use their own hardware, rather than directly stole it from an existing architecture.

So yes the 'console' xbox can do alot of things a PC can do, is it really a surprise?

well of cource not cuz we all know it basicly a low end computer
