By coordinating with people and activating on 2 consoles, deactivating one when somebody finishes?
Though as Ray said, that means no more 3 player co-op shares after the 18th :(
I'm on vacation :awesome:
Don't go back to work till the 21st. Work 3 days, then off thurs and fri for Thanksgiving :]
I actually meant a free PSP. But I have friends in positions of get me free shit. Because that's how I roll.
True. On an unfortunate note, this means I won't be able to get us Vagrant Story or Threads of Fate on time. Well, I'll have it. Then I'll craft weaponry incorrectly. It'll be just like now.
No, I know that.
Wait, if we can de/re-activate consoles on one account, it could still work. It'd just be inconvenient as shit.
But we're EP, nothing comes easy.
Except for Ray.
So tan, how's your game coming along?
In fact, how you been? It's like I haven't talked to you guys in months.
Steam got hacked.
Trying to make this VERY visible in case any of you have been effected.
Not entirely a myth. It's not that coding for the PS3 is hard, it's that coding for the 360 is negligible. It runs on Microsoft's XNA, which is just C++ in a fancy package. So make the PC game, then all you have to do is change the input and recompile for 360. That's why the indie scene is so big on the 360 (even if half of it is ZOMBIES, MINECRAFTCLONEDUDEITOTALLYHADTHISIDEABEFOREMINECRA FTCAMEOUT, or "massagers").
Clearly all game companies should just go the XSEED route. If there's a good fan translation out there that people like, just buy it. Don't bother trying to make your own that has conflicting wording or spelling or whatever.
So totally unrelated, but ooh-wee-ooh. Killer Tofu.
It appears to have turned into a one man project again. Haven't heard back from any (wait, I take that back, one person responded) when I was asking the others about their opinion on the best route with the infection mechanic. I still haven't abandoned it, though, and posted a first draft of the first two journal entries in my EP blog.
Not bad. How about you, man?
I died and then came back to life.
Then I made the 2 worst class schedule ever.
So I'm doing about the same as usual.
I had a long reply typed out, but I think it's better to just say that I sincerely disagree with that line of thought. It's selling a finished product that was never intended to be sold, like making dreamcatchers as a hobby and having someone see it in your window and offer cash for it. If it were something like the fan translator doing the game because they think a company will buy it, or using Woolseyisms simply because they think the company wants it, fine. That's a sellout. But serendipity isn't selling out.
Threads I made have been updated.
This call for...action.
Yeah, here's the thing:
Several have actively sought out companies that pay for fan translations and then say "NOPE, WE AREN'T RELEASING ANY MORE PATCHES. AND THE ONES WE HAD ARE TAKEN DOWN. IF WE SEE YOU POST IT ANYWHERE, EXPECT A CALL FROM OUR LAWYER'
In other instances the second the talks "start". they begin translating exclusively for profit.
True, but I've never really understood the appeal of the "starving artist" schtick, and frankly, building a portfolio with the intention of getting hired isn't a bad thing at all, in art as in programming and translation. At least they make their portfolio publicly and freely available until they sell their product, which is better than keeping it hidden. It also lets companies pick out products that appeal to the target audience in advance, rather than taking their best guess from marketing trends.
PbP Meguca game?
If I can manage to run a game over the internet and keep my sanity, I will.
Then again, if I can run the most idiotic game of Dark Heresy and not shoot half my new players, I can do anything.
Well, short of keeping them alive anymore, fuck that shit.
They will all die, and it will be recorded, and you'll all know how bad of a GM I am, and it will be glorious.
