The last mod I did was to remove the region lock tabs in my SNS-101 so I could play my SMT imports. Maybe I'll do an RGB restore mod, but idk yet. I def need an LED though. No mod is complete without. :wacko:

Long version: All games have a chip on the board for it as well. It's to prevent unlicensed games (and what a fine job they did). The cart has to communicate with the chip to work. If not, the chip will keep resetting the system. This is all solved by snapping the fourth connector (going left to right) on the front side of the chip on the system board. There are good picture step by step guides for doing it.

Short version: It's a useless piece of shit.

Thats just one reason. The other is to ensure that the system resets if there is poor communication between cart edge and cart. This other reason is silly though, because you'll know whether or not you have to readjust the cart very easily. :P
