It would be cool if EP hosted direct downloads again, but its probably not gonna happen. With some companies going after people who hosts ROMS *cough* Nintendo *cough*, its probably best not to risk anything at the moment.

There's a lot of stuff on archive.org and other places anyway, you just need to know where to look.
Some official guides can be harder or impossible to find, but it's pretty unusual for games to be impossible to find unless they're new unlicensed releases (and a lot of those can be found too).
Its true that official guides and instruction manuals might be hard to find or probably impossible, but most games should be easy to find. I wish rapidshare and megaupload were still around, seems like you could find anything when those sites were still operating. A emulation wiki can point you on the right direction ;)
Been playing Mechwarrior 5 :) It's not as bad as I thought it would be, yeah the graphics aren't great but they aren't PS2 :lol More like 360/PS3 but better draw distance.
Hit detection is fine I haven't had any issue with that at all.
I'm only at like rep 4 or something atm but I might revert to an earlier save as I overlooked something that would save me some credits, also probably made some bad choices with purchases.
Start tutorial only gives you basic mech controls really and there's other stuff that honestly needs explaining imo, it would be much easier with a decent manual but games don't really have those now.
It's kinda odd how some mechs have set weapon slot types and you can't change to another type afaik. I mean even the same mech model can have variants with different slot types (eg I've seen Locust with LRM or medium laser slots but you can't swap between those weapons, you need to get/buy the other chassis).
There might be more to learn anyway... I definitely don't regret the purchase.
4.30am :bed:
I had BoUT2 bug out because I didn't complete a portion of it in exact sequence :explode:.
There's a point near the end of chapter 3 where it becomes impossible to progress if you put the completely assembled item where it belongs. Instead, you have to stop short, place it, then complete it.
There's also a conversation which can bug out the camera in that chapter. I had previous saves to fall back on, thankfully.
wow.
Book of Unwritten Tales 2, if you were wondering on the game. It's an alright adventure game but I'm not sure how those bugs were missed and why they never got patched.
is there no unofficial patches?
Not that I'm aware of.
well that sucks.
At least there's a workaround .
yeah, but workarounds shouldn't be necessary to play a game from start to finish.
Agreed.
I'd be cautious buying a game from the developer or publisher in the future. I try not to let bugs stop me. If I had to restart from the beginning I would've considered dropping it.
Its freezing cold here.
My CPU seems to get really warm under load. Like 55-65C while gaming, sometimes 70-80C, its an i5 4690k @ 3.5Ghz. It idles at 30-35C. It has 4 cores. I'm on Windows 7 SP1 and No viruses or other malware has been found.
Put some new quality thermal paste on there and change to more efficient cooler.
If you want to be as cheap as possible then change the paste first and go from there. I second DL's suggestion if you don't mind spending a bit more.
You can get cheap huge coolers, they might not look cool and the fan will have noise but they work better than stock. Not all the cheap ones are ok though obviously.
I'm only thinking you have cool weather atm over there, and whatever is going on will only be worse when you have hot weather
Yeah its usually cool weather here most of the time. It can get pretty hot during the Summer here though. I'll probably upgrade to a better cooler. Honlesty though, if it weren't for bit-coin miners, I'd really prefer to make a new build, but parts are too expensive right now.
Its mostly fine for games that don't require too much power. I notice after a more demanding game has been running for a few minutes or so, the temps seem to even out, once the GPU fan starts spinning. (GPU is a Nvidia GTX 970 with 4GB)
Managed to work up to a Warhammer, not hero mech but does pretty well in missions above my rep level (my other lance mechs are lower tonnage).
Hero mech :squint:?
Basically unique variants of certain types.
I only have one atm; Commando hero which came with 4x double heatsinks and higher than normal speed compared to normal variants. It also has ok armor for a 25 tonner and sports 4x M lasers, actually a really good light mech.
I did have another hero, a Spider, but I stripped it of a few rare parts and sold the remains (got 1x double heatsink and 2x AMS with ammo).
Thing is you can only have 12 mechs in your hanger, you do also have "cold storage" which only houses stripped mechs. I've read that cold storage can hold like 50 mechs but idk if that's true
If you do have 12 mechs in your hanger then you can't claim any new mechs as salvage from missions.
Some missions are multi, you can swap to other mechs between these multi parts as you can't repair between missions inside multi mission.
Anyway, pretty much everything you hold onto increases your running costs (bills that need to be paid) so I don't use cold storage atm. Need more c-bills :dread:
There's a fair bit of management involved in the game.
Merry Christmas :D
Nope you can't swap out a hanger mech for a salvage mech afaik.
It would be nice if they let you send salvage mechs straight to cold storage and stripped the parts for your inventory but they don't do that either afaik.
Yeah I used one of the double heatsinks on my current Warhammer (on the engine heat sink slot).
Well shit...Tested positive for Covid today. :lol
The testing methodology is changing at the end of the year once the authorization for the PCR is up.
https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/2...Testing_1.html
I ain't getting tested if I get the rona, I'll just stay home. I haven't gone to the doctor for a cold/flu in 20-30 years. I don't need no toilet brush shoved up my nose, that's insult on top of injury.
Merry Christmas/happy holidays everyone ~
So while playing some games, I decided to have coretemp running. While playing Yakuza 0 and Just Cause 2, I noticed that the CPU temp didn't get hotter than 55-60C, which is mostly fine. I think it mostly stayed in the 50s. The GPU temp got to 60-65C, which is fine for a GPU. Playing GTA IV however, the fan is very audible, but I know that the PC port of GTA IV is terribly optimized. So I guess it depends on the game.
Merry Christmas all!
Holy crap!!! Just looked outside. Guess it'll be a white Christmas after all!!!!
