I've only played through the first game.
Does anyone here like Windows 10? Besides DirectX12 and the Linux Subsystem, I don't really see a lot of the appeal to it.
I'd like to stay on Windows 7, but as time goes on, that will become less and less likely, it already is. I'm too much into gaming to use Linux fulltime.
Like it? Not really. Does it have problems? Yes. Do these problems really matter or make it significantly worse than Win7? No.
I don't regret upgrading to Win10, it's just what is now. It doesn't need any appeal, it's just an operating system, I don't need to be invested in it, it's not like I paid anything for it.
I've had win10 enterprise running on a couple of HP laptops since before covid.
Just recently installed the same on another laptop (Samsung).
started to play gothic a bit today the game just crashed on me so I load it back up only to find my saves got wiped *sigh* I think that's the sign I should give up and move on to something else.
I would have been more inclined to give it 1 more chance but after it freezing my system yesterday this was the nail in the coffin for me. I did check out anachronox I think this game has potential I'm not too keen on the camera movement so far but I think I can get used to it.
I'm looking forward to seeing what combat is going to be like the lock picking is more interesting it's still a guessing game of 0-9 but your tool shows you how close you are to a right number.
right matey :pirate: I've never payed for win and never will. I shouldn't have to pay for software to make use of my hardware.
funky as in it has bad controls, story, mechanics or funky as in weird story and characters?
I'm guessing someone deleted those posts last night of that guy asking over and over where the iso's are?
so combat is turn based huh not what I was expecting but it's not that bad. I am bothered by a bug where an event keeps playing when in the combat training area and getting dropped into oblivion(getting stuck in an infinite falling loop and not spawning back on the ground like I should)
might have to try reloading my save and see if it keeps doing it.
seems like it's not going to be a combat heavy game and also no random loot around? at least enemies drop items.
I'll probably update tonight or this weekend. I'd like to do a clean install, but I'd rather not wait forever to copy all my stuff over. I do have a back-up/clone of my current HDD on another HDD, so I do have a back-up just in case.
Its probably the nostalgia talking, but if it was supported by modern hardware and software, I'd still be using Windows 98.
Same for me with XP. I view a lot of the modern OS improvements as a waste of time.
Yeah a lot of modern OS design is just awful. Software as a service is so shitty. It would be a miracle if stable software comes back and not as a service.
Oh yeah, forgot to ask...
Where are the iso's? :pwacko:
 4:30am it's 60-65 out with gale force winds is it really december? also hoping the power doesn't go out today.
It was rough here last night. There were strong winds all day, had power go out in the evening not long after some bread went into the oven to bake (ruined of course :(), and not long after the outage there was a ton of smoke on the air because of a fire somewhere.
I am really getting into this game now, it reminds me of shadow run for snes and a bit of mass effect. I do dislike the active combat system as it doesn't give you any time to think or pick your actions before being attacked or whatever I wish there was a "wait" mode for battles.
 :booger:
:future:
no power outages here today and it looks like the temps will be more normal starting tomorrow unless they're wrong which is like 80% of the time
something that's taken me a bit to notice this game could use an ingame map not that it's hard to find your way around it's just something that seems to be missing.
It snowed here. Was going to install Win10 last night. Waited 2-3 hours for updates. Made sure that I checked the update and install as a update with all my files, then it went through the update process again for some reason, I didn't wanna wait that long again, so I cancelled. I'll update to Win10 eventually.
Do you guys think there's any chance Emuparadise will come back for real and reclaim it's former glory as #1 site of old games? Like for example, if laws are changed regarding archiving. Just hopeful thinking...
