Star Trek Into Darkness :]
The guy who playeddid a great job imo. Parts were really silly like that helicopter type thingy he used and the Klingon stuff was stupid. Oh and the Spock fight was alright. Not as good as the first. Wonder how they'll do in the third as I'm sure they'll milk it for all it's worth.Spoiler warning:
I'm guessing its on disc now?
May have to do a double feature soon.
You should've spoilered a bit more of that man :lol

It's A Wonderful Life(1946)
First time I saw this I was around 5 years old. And 23 years later, it's still a good movie.
Welp I had my new star trek double feature. First one was better but that may just be because it was a little more fresh what with seeing the new actors playing the classic roles for the first time. Seem a couple times before though but figured I'd do it again.
As for the into darkness it was my second time seeing it but the first time wasn't a very good experience and missed some stuff for various reasons
I really enjoyed the plethora of references to a bunch of the original movies and even had some from the various more modern series from tng on up.
My most recently watched movie is "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist", really funny movie, it's a parody of Kung Fu movies in general, to bad there isn't a sequel
Sharknado-It was exactly what I thought it would be.I had some laughs though.
Watched The World's End last night. It had it's moments, if you're a fan of Simon Pegg I'd recommend it.
Hummingbird (2013) aka Redemption - kind of ok I guess, I was expecting the usual Statham action movie but it seemed a little different.
Gallowwalkers (2012) - was pretty meh, although I wasn't expecting much from Snipes
World War Z (2013) - well, I suspect because I watched Gallowwalkers before this it seemed rather ok. More movies are needed :booger:
This Is the End (2013) - Incredibly funny.
The Red Shoes- An old movie about a ballerina forced to choose between her poor composer bf and a rich man. Good movie.4/5
Now You See Me- Good movie. Although just by the nature of it, it isn't going to be one of those you can watch repeatedly and enjoy it time after time.
Woochi. This was an excellent movie. EXCELLENT!
Sharknado (2013)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2724064/
lol'd so f****** hard, It's so so... bizarre xDQuote:
When a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, nature's deadliest killer rules sea, land, and air as thousands of sharks terrorize the waterlogged populace.
Watched Pokemon The First Movie.
Japanese and uncut. I cried a little. :|
Pain and Gain (2012) - It was a one time watch type of movie, just ok
Now You See Me (2013) - It was a really fun to watch movie
This Is The End (2013) - So funny even after seeing it 3 times
Redemption (2013) - Regular Statham type action film
Just watched Spider 3D...
Well, it's about spiders...
Iron Man 3. I thought it was a pretty good ending to the series. The Mandarin reveal was great. I LOL'ed. I know some people thought they "ruined" the Mandarin. Those people take comics way too seriously.
World War Z.
Not bad. I liked it. Pitt sure is looking older now eh?
3.5/5
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Wow. Just wow. These DTV movies just keep getting better and better. It really makes me wish they would take a chance and release one on the big screen. Kingdom Come would be a great one.
OKAY We're The Millers wasn't all that bad considering it's genre.
I saw it with my mom, so that's probably why it was funnier to me.
We were both laughing the entire time!
Finally got around to 28 weeks later. It had its moments (like when he kills his wife) but all in all it was too short and with too thin a plot. It was more fun saying "oh hey I know that actor/actress from somewhere" :P
2/5
"V/H/S 2"
Good film and a nice secuel, but the first one was much better IMO ;)
3/5
Wreck it Ralph. Not bad, got a little bored half way through. I'm not really into these movies but when it was recommended to me in the hangout I didn't realize it was game related only that it was an "animated" one and that was what saved it for me. That and Silverman :hump:
It was ok 2.5/5
I love Wreck It Ralph (obviously). What made it work for me was that I'm a huge Disney fan and after so many years of trying to do "hip" movies to compete with DreamWorks, this was the first film of theirs in a long time where they focused on telling a good story first and worried about potential popularity second. Also, with my aspergers, there are a lot of days that I feel like a glitch, so Vanellope's character arc really resonates with me, hence the avatar. Best Disney film ever? Maybe not. Best Disney film since Lilo And Stitch? Definitely.
Had a hankering for some Hellboy last night. Not an overly popular movie but I love it :D
I'm a fan of Ron Perlman so there's that. And I've never even read the comic :P I also like it for the fact that it's not a 90 minute piece of fluff either.
4/5
Watched big trouble in little china with my girlfriend today as she had never seen it. She thought it was an odd mixture of awful and awesome.
Pacific Rim - giant robots fightan is ok, but characters suck, terrible accents and
Spoiler warning:
After Earth - fell asleep.
After Earth was beyond terrible.
"The Internship"
I was specting something more for a comedy film, It's a "meh" al least IMO. xd
Paths of Glory, I've been trying to watch more Stanley Kubrick films and I think I've seen most of his most loved films. He consistently makes great films.
Yeah, pretty much everything he made is great. If you haven't seen Killer's Kiss, I suggest you check it out. It's film Noir Kubrick style.
Yep, and the above comment pertains to you as well. I think my least favorite of Kubrick's movies is actually Full Metal Jacket, and before anyone cries blasphemy, I do think it's good, but only the first half. The boot camp segment is pure genius and overshadows the rest of the film - the action sequences that make up the rest of the movie are just standard fare and don't live up to the greatness of the first half.
Anyway, been awhile since I posted in here. I haven't been playing any games really since GTA5, but I've been watching movies. I'm adopting the late great Roger Ebert rating scale, so ratings are based on a 1 to 4 star rating, and if it is above 4 stars, then I'll claim it as a "Great Movie".
Skyfall - ***
Night of the Living Dead (1968) - ****
Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Great Movie
Day of the Dead (1985) - **
Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) - * 1/2 - A movie that did NOT need to be remade at all.
Friday the 13th (2009) - ** 1/2 - as much as I enjoy the originals for camp value, this reboot/remake is the bees knees for the series
Dracula (1931) - Great Movie
The Wolfman (1941) - Great Movie
An American Werewolf in London (1981) - **** - when it comes to werewolf flicks, the only thing that rivals this is the original Wolfman (1941)
Splice (2009) - ** 1/2
Land of the Dead (2005) - *** 1/2
Diary of the Dead (2007) - ***
Riki Oh: The Story of Ricki (1991) - ** 1/2
Hostel - **
Hostel III - ZERO STARS
Scream 2 - ** 1/2

Session 9 (2001) - ** 1/2
Jade (1995) - *
VHS (2012) - ** 1/2 - The bookend segments are trash, but the first 3 of 4 stories are actually pretty interesting. It's like Creepshow, only handheld style - several short movies etc.
Freaks (1932) - *** 1/2
Bride of Frankenstein (1935) - *** 1/2
Young Frankenstein (1974) - ****
The Exorcist (1973) - Great Movie
Saw - **
Saw II - **
Saw III - *
Saw IV - * (I stopped after this one - this series is just shit - to me it's like a bunch of nerds sat around and came up with semi-clever ways to murder people, then tried to build a story around the death sequences and somehow connect 6 fucking movies. I could give a shit less about how it all ends)
And I think that catches me up - this is about 2 months worth of movie watching, and since it's been a gaming drought since September and the Halloween season always brings out my horror movie innards, I've been occupied with the IFC, Sundance Channel, AMC and TCM - all have had some worthy horror flicks shown
