They got scared with far better reception towards PS4, they would lose $$$. At least they were reasonable enough to (finally) drop these restrictions, but not because they have good intentions in their hearts and care about gamers freedom :D
However, the damage is already done. I prefer PC gaming and I don't either live in the, US, but if did and was to choose a console, I'd get a PS4 for $ 399 + 2x $30 games and would spend the remaining $40 with my girlfriend, haha, this is the best deal!
EDIT: I've found out all PS4 titles currently cost rough $60, damn, the profit they don't make on consoles they make on games :mad:
New games have been $60 for a while now.

Yeah, some places were just downright nasty with their pricing - If you didn't get a game from Best Buy, WalMart, Target, or some other big box retailer, you were probably going to pay at least $10 more than said places.
