I know it's really late in the game, but my first actual purchase of my own was "Rise to Honor" the multidirection right analog fighter for the ps2. I enjoyed every replayed minute.

First game I ever bought with money I had earned was Max Payne for PC. When I got a real job, I bought a 360 with Perfect Dark Zero and Splinter Cell: Conviction. And the XBLA version of Doom.

Think it'd be one of the Pokemon games.
