Yes but many people use Xmas. Even bible thumpers have used Xmas. They feel really stupid when I show them what they've done.

Also I've noticed that people around here are saying 'CHRIS-MAS' instead of 'CHRIST-MAS'. But mystc_knight, really its just a quicker way to write christmas. I don't know why you're making such a big fuss. God knows what we're saying regardless of the way we write it. God doesn't even speak English or any other language so it doesn't even matter. I don't get it why Christians make up all this stuff and incorrect interpretations. Thats one of the reason why I'm athiest.
Why would an athiest celebrate christmas?
Its about Family and Goodwill towards man.. and peace on earth..Quote:

So what if it has roots in Christanty... it stands for more then just a birthday..
Why the presents of course. And because it's a tradition.Quote:

Mystic_Knight - I always call it Christmas verbally, but when Im typing/writing I simply cannot be arsed to write in full. Its because Im a lazy bastard, not irreligious.
You know what, Im stuck with a P2 450 machine which sucks majorly and the mobo on it wont even boot from the ****ing DVD drive. I wish I could be getting a new pc or even one or two hundred pounds worth of serious upgrade.Quote:

After that I'll prolly buy FFXI for it, with the money people give me instead of presents...
Sadly we are a fairly poor family compared with most people and I will have to be hapy with 2 pre ordered megatokyo graphical novels and Beyond Good and Evil for the PS2.
I would really like to have my PS2 mod chipped but that isnt cheap to get done so that will probably never happen.
erm I hate the commercial shit that helps make me want all this stuff (considerably less than my peers I may add) and all the ****ing bad parents that just over indulge thier children. Buying several months of wages worth of presents doesnt bring up a child well. Care and attention and knowing when the time to stay out the way is good to bring up children. Somne things make me sick..
rant.. rant...! (nobodys gonna read this, its just too damn long XD)
I dont know what im getting becuase my parents dont tell me but i am hoping to get a GBA SP and some games and of course i had to ask for Double Dragon Advanced. Then next month RCR Advanced.
Exactly. It's not as poor, misguided GundamGuy said. Noone gives a shit about those things anymore, and that's one of the reasons the Holiday sickens me. If you are athiest, why are you celebrating Christ's birthday? It strikes me as...I dunno..stupid. Or self-serving. It's like that person is saying "I choose not to believe, unless I can get something out of it". Ugh, I wish the meaning of this time of year wasn't kicked aside like it is....:|Quote:

most people need a faith to cling on to during their lifetimes...and that faith has come to earth in the form of religion.the human soul may be self-sustaining but not the human spirit.it is not always possible for a crowd to sparkle out it's induviduality, which is why any religion is always a distorted version of its original form.but don't categorize people with their religion, you must learn to recognize the faith in them.and that alone will restore your faith in god...and yourself.Quote:

I dont believe in any religion and never will. I just partake in x-mass (which is what it is to me now) because its a holiday and it involves giving and meeting family and the like.
I dont give two shits if some fictional creation has his birthday on that day.
I'm getting Animal Crossing for Gamecube. ^^
"God is the personification of hope"
hey i'll remember that quote Vanit, nice one:D.never heard it before:P
That quote is actually from myself.
