I did that once with my Hotmail account. Whenever I received a new email, it sent me a text message to alert me.
That lasted until I ended up on some kind of spam list and got 93 emails in an afternoon.

Gmail automatically does that on Android phones, but they have the greatest spam filters in the world...so I only get the mail I want.

I like everything about Gmail except for the UI. For some reason, I just... hate it so much. SO MUCH. And I don't know why.
