I've never had tapwater in Hungary, obviously, but the quality of your water definitely affects its taste. I don't like our city water either, but the filtered water at work is good. And we had a well at my Dad's when I was a kid and that was always okay. I can sympathize with someone who might be "picky" about their drinking water.

Water comes out of the ground, and if you're really particular you can filter it yourself at very little cost.
