Joked before the game to my younger brother that it would be cute if Ukraine could win on their opening day via a Shevchenko goal. Didn't think it'd come true. ^^;;; If he retires after this tournament, it's a fitting end to the career of a gentleman and one of the best strikers of a generation.
Though it would be even better if he scored one or two more in their remaining two group games and wound up top goalscorer. :wacko:

When things are done right, everything shines more, it wasn't that hard to do it. Silva was splendid today.
We learnt the lesson and now Italy is at risk. An eventual tie between Spain and Croatia would mean they are out... but I want to think both teams will be honest.
A dark part of me wants to see Croatia and Italy win next match day. :trollface:

Yeah, I'm amazed that Milner is preferred to Walcott personally. He's a decent player, but I've never rated him that highly, whereas Walcott is one of the few players in England's current crop of players who has the ability to really get at the opposition and create something out of nothing. Seems like a no brainer to me.
Anyway, sorry to see Sweden eliminated so early Elmdor. D: Thanks to Henrik Larsson they've been one of my adopted nations since I was quite young, and I was hoping they could fell England and sneak out of the group. At least they gave us a great game last night~
