I'm guessing that's mainly due to the online play. They don't really have much choice when the alternative is angry letters and media coverage because little Timothy asked his parents what a Cuntersaurus Spunklord was.

Oh I understand why, I'm not actually crazy.

In some of the newer games you can't actually trade a couple of the default pokemon names because they have fag within the name. Now that's pretty funny.
