i just installed the patch. hopefully thats all it needs.
Here is a file that I found on one of the sites linked to in the very first post. It is more or less a test file to see if you are vulnerable. When viewed it should open up the calculator and then shut down Explorer. Then explorer should open right up. That is all it will do. I have tried it on my computer.
Lies. That's one of them there virus piccies.Quote:

Interesting.
BTW Josh your thing doesn't work, even in IE.
polo, could you explain all the shit in polo language for us who are too lazy to read 89 pages of microshit?
Here's the test, from PCdoctor-guide.com

Explain what, there's nothing to explain. It's the same link Cosmic posted on the first page, it's just really interesting that they decided to release the patch with the monthly updates rather than the faster possible considering the number of people getting infected.

Just look at the scam mail, one imitating M$ Brasil. :|
uh, tha file opened up my calculator and crashed IE. is that bad?
No, it's meant to do that. Though you should apply the patch as you apparently didn't patch it right. Or wait until Jan. 10th, when M$ release their patch.
i did apply the patch. i downloaded it from cosmic's post, double clicked, installed....oh wait, i didn't reboot though.
I downloaded it last night, I did that "Calc Test", and it opened, then I got to sleep (Turning off, of course =P) And now the Calc doesn't show up, so, if the Calc don't pop up everything is alright?
If the calc didn't open and rundll32 AND/OR iexplore didn't crash then, yes, you're protected and everything is allright
and that should happen on my next reboot, correct? i did apply the patch normally.Quote:
