Could be. But one thing's sure: this whole thing proves that FFVII gets a LOT of attention nowadays...Quote:

So, without reading every single post in this thread: Am I the only one who wouldn't go and shoot cum because they remade FFVII? I can honestly say that I haven't truly Enjoyed a Square-Enix game since they were Square and Enix. Front Mission 4 was a big dissapointment and the FF series just isn't the same these days.
FFT > FFVI > FFIX > FFVII. RADIATA STORIES FOR THE WIN!
A remake of FF7 is my dream, it is my all-time favourite game and although i hope it does, by some off-chance come out, i just dont think it will.
I remember reading an article a while ago about them thinking about it especially as they released the old FF7 game ahead of schedual. As i think there was supposed to be a way to bring Aeris back to life, and there was supposed to be more about Zack (this is supposed to be shown in the fact that you see Aeris flash in midgar when u return to the church with the midgar key. And there is a door around the Ancients city that would have been linked to it).
But in the article they also stated that a sequal to FFX was possible as they could use the FFX engine. (btw FFX-2 made me sick...so damn girly and stupid, a cheap ass way for Square-Enix to rip us off if i do say so myself).
But, a remake for FF7 was not likely to happen due to not only having to remake the game, but a whole new engine as well due to not using the old one anymore. And i'd assume they wont bother redoing or even making a new FF7 engine, even though it would probably make a lot of money as everyone i know who has FF7 (a lot of people) would re-buy the game.
And many sites post up articles of people saying that FF7 will be remade...but talk is cheap, and i think it is just people trying to convince themselves of a longshot.
alas, i dont think that this time my dreams will come true. fingers crossed though eh?
Square was originally with Nintendo, they don't care about cutting the money maker if they think it will make them more money in the long run...Quote:

lol if final fantasy sucks, why do millions play the FF11 online game? why is Square-Enix one of sonys most popular companies :P why do ppl still buy Final Fantasy ps1 games o.o?
i hated Unlimited Saga... i turned my ps2 off after 10 minutes >_>
I think it's cool that they're making an anime show for it. If i recall... weren't they making a movie for it?
I don't see why Square-Enix could not release the game on all 3 consoles?Quote:

Different hardware to compile for. A game is much like any other peice of computer software. When it is optimized for an Nvidia card (PS2), and it has no support for an ATI card intrinsically, you have to add that functionality in. It's more work than most are willing to do. Aside from that, the mediums are of varying sizes which puts another roadblock on alot of developer's plans. It's a whole big deal that stops devels from porting games like that. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, we all know it does, but why else would games like GTA: SA take a whole year to be released on the Xbox with no added missions or features?Quote:

It's much more probable to see the remake in just one of the next gen consoles than in 2 or 3 of them.
And yes I'd love to see it come true, FF VII was excelent and a remake of it wont disappoint me. Its a matter of time, I'm sure they will do it :P
Seriosly, why else would SE do that at E3 with the trailer? They new that it would cause an uproar just like this one and get people talking. I know that they were wanting to show off their new tech. but why FF7, they could have used anyone of their other games. Maybe they were just giving us a glimpse of what they have up their sleeve, or maybe we are just reading way to much into it. I can still dream of a remake even tho they said NO.
They're making a movie as a continuation of the game. It should look better than the original FF7, so they re-did the character models into high polycount, beautiful models for that film. So, they're just reusing the Aeris and Cloud models they already had. Plus, the scenery looked pretty decent in the original game, too, so they wouldn't have much work to do with this one techdemo... Recycled FF goodness. :D That's why.Quote:
