If it's a bicycle then a chain lock won't do much if they're going around with bolt cutters. Which some of them do so they can get into locked gates, sheds etc.
You can store the bike inside your house (or whatever), remove the front wheel if you're leaving it on a porch or if you feel like it; just loosen the front wheel so if anyone steals it there's a good chance they'll injure themselves. If you do the last one remember to tighten the wheel again before you use it yourself :wacko:
