Chrono Trigger SNES goes for big bucks, whic is why i'm going for DS
@Cosmic: One of those fc twin things? There are a bunch of them I lose track.
They really helped bring the value down on NES and SNES consoles though.
Someone got a hold on mommy and daddy's credit card, I see.
poop
Sometimes you can get a working 360 for $2.50 :revwacko:.
PS3 emulator.
Yeah, I did look for an American SNES while I was there but couldn't find one for a decent price so I picked up a Retro Duo. I'm pretty happy with it. Outside of region locked PAL titles that wouldn't run on an import console anyway I've only encountered one game that doesn't work properly so far.
Blame nostalgia. People are willing to pay more for a game they remember from their childhood. Mix that with a bunch of other people looking for the same game, and the prices can go up fairly quickly. Rarity really only comes into play for the extremely rare titles - games with a run of 2-10K, for example.
One of the reasons I love the NES is that, on average, the prices are reasonable. For around 500 of the games for the system, they generally go for around $5-$15. Then maybe another 100 or so go for around $20-$40. It's those handful of extremely rare titles (Stadium Events, Surprise at Dino Peak, Bubble Bobble 2, Duck Tales 2, etc, etc) that make me regret collecting for my favourite console ever sometimes. :dread:
Yeah I used to have one. It was pretty reliable.
You would have had to dug for a SNES. When you hunt regularly you can snag them for under $10 fairly regularly. Just having to buy one from a reseller online or at a used game store though is another story entirely.
When you're awesome.
I think I'm also going to work towards a fullset N64 collection, either in tandem with my NES collecting or once I hit around 400 NES games. I forgot how many quality games there were for that system. ^_^
Well I'm out.
Guess I should have posted in that Breaking Bad thread. Oh well next time.
:bamf:
Oh bother..I have to start packing for my apartment move in. Mostly furniture too. :ugh:
Finally a backread without some sort of argument
