SETI is a big waste of time and resources, we have yet to detect any sign of intelligent life on Earth much less on another planet.

God Fucking Dammit. Trying to get the A rank in RE: CV and made it to the fight with Alexia after saving claire. Stupid me I ran straight into her when I regained control after the fmv and she one hits me.
fuckfuckfuck.
It's not that aliens don't exist, it's that beings advanced enough to visit Earth are not detecting any sign of intelligent life and they are entirely indifferent to us.

"In Lovecraft's work, human beings are often subject to powerful beings and other cosmic forces, but these forces are not so much malevolent as they are indifferent toward humanity. This indifference is an important theme in cosmicism."

Welp try a third time tomorrow.
So I spent hours DL Grid 2019, only to realize it needs DirectX12 and Windows 10 to run. I'm on Windows 7. I have Windows 10, but I'm reluctant to upgrade.
Is it still possible to use Dos in this day and age? Not talking using dosbox or something for old games but to use it as an OS and still go online etc?
Interesting but not what I was getting at.
Is it possible to just install/boot dos without windows?
Just curious.
Oh nifty.
You can go online with original Commodore 64 computers. You can even buy a wifi modem for them
Even niftier :revwacko:
:gnight:
There's FreeDOS, you can probably use that an OS if you really wanted to. Also, yeah, perhaps a patch will be made so that it can run under OpenGL/Vulkan or DirectX11. Not sure why they didn't make a OpenGL/Vulkan driver in the first place, regarding Grid 2019. Oh well, I can always get the console version later on sale. At least I got this game on sale too.
Anyone know of any good, not too expensive HD capture cards?
Wow this is old school.
When i had my windows XP working, my download rate was around 50 kilobytes per second. With this speed, i tried to download megaman 1 for playstation 1 (around 400MB) and i sucessfully did in sessions of 6 hours 3 times, or 18 hours. Now, my download speed is 1 Megabyte per second , so i can download the same game in a few minutes. :O
This ice slide section in the venator wreck is pissing me off >.>
Somebody suggest me some torrent clients that are decent here in 2020.
Also something for mp3s, the Windows 10 included thing seems like garbage.
I use a little music player program called Musicbee. Fairly simple to use and it downloads coverart etc. plus it shows the lyrics for whatever you're playing. Should be free.
Edit: Oh I seem to remember some kind of plugin for it that popped up as malware - probably a false positive but I deleted it anyhow and have never had any problems with it
I use Torch for torrents, it downloads cover art when available.
I use qBittorrent.
I don't listen to music on my laptop so idk about an mp3 player.
I don't really use torrents. I prefer direct downloads. Though torrents can come in handy.
If you're going to use private trackers (now or maybe in the future) pay attention to clients that might be prohibited.
I've heard of that before I'm sure. Looking at its download site and that it's on Sourceforge it should be perfect.
Yeah, I've barely listened to mp3s in a decade. Somebody dropped a nice speaker at work though, which will pipe music off a headphone jack. I can use an old phone on it, but said old phone only plays masses of music if fed playlists, and configuring playlists on it is a hassle. So I'm looking at doing all that work on a PC and tossing it on the phone to leave it running unattended.
It shouldn't be hard to find something that'll let me configure playlists, easily tidy up id tags, grab cover art, etcetera. That stuff should all be basic? But the last mp3 player I used was Winamp :lol
I'll give it a shot, thankies.
If you've used old versions of utorrent in the past then qBittorrent feels pretty much the same.
Avoid using utorrent it's just shit, old versions are ok but magnets can be broken and also udp trackers may or may not work.
Yeah, I mainly used utorrent since wayback when they were the best, and knew they went to shit. I tried one of the first shit versions and I went "lol nope" grabbed an old version and just left it running for years.
Few things haven't gone to shit yet in 2020, alien invasion would either be the end of a shitshow or an improvement.
Hey Ragnar, have you seen this?!
Interesting idea.
