Can I create an american steam account even though I'm in Ireland? Want a game that's only on the American steam and such..

From what little I've read about it, it sounds like Steam sets your region based on location, and not necessarily by what country you say you're in when you sign up. You can probably get around it with a proxy or VPN tunnel, but you run the risk of your account being shut down if you do that.

Check Amazon.com. They sell download codes for a lot of games and the only thing you need is an American address on file.
