it seems I'm the only one with a Dual Processor system :\ that means I can't brag...(cant really compare 1vs2 cpus...) errr.. well here are my specs took me a long while to OC my Athlons to that much. The rig really sucks compared to uniprocessor gamming rigs, probally cuz o the single channel ram and 4xagp, dont b fooled by the magicial *2* cpus... i really only use both cpus at once when running rC5 and some 3d rendering apps, sides that the secound CPU works like HT tech, only better.

Sephiroth: I read up on the K7D when it came out and I thought it only handled single xp support? It can only do dual smp on amd's mp not amd xp cpu? If your trying to do dual xp then only one cpu is really being used.
If you use Dual CPUS you have to go for Opterons as they can nearly achieve the magic "2x" performance. (Gotta love Hypertransport).
Bios revisions of 1.43B(might b 1.44B too)+ 1.3 only support Dual opteration Durons, mine perfectly supports Dual XP's, though Bios revision 1.1 and 1.0 even 1.2 dont support Dual Xp's dont know y. there was another K7D MASTER-L mainbord (it was green colored, mines red) mabye I have revision 1.1 of the board, but probally not, I think there was only rev 1.0 but I'm not gona turn the comp off and look (crunching important data right now)
Dual opterons and 2x increase? Ohh I know :D I think they still get pretty high though (like 1.79-1.86 scalling,) I might b wrong on the scaling part, I rember reading a thread abt dual opterons, but that was 4 months ago.. my Dual Athlons scale much worse, like 1.37 or 1.6 if im lucky

my quad athlon used to get something like 3.2 scaling...a little less when OC'ed

AMD never made Athlons Quad SMP compatible, the only cpu that is certified for configurations beyond 2cpus is the opteron. :nod:

3.2 scaling would be incredable for a quad setup espically on Athlons..
me and a few friends are planning on completely annihilating that benchmark by beoulving together a crapload of parts into a custom plexiglass case...apty named "Project G". All we need is one old gfx card, a mobo, and a cpu for each slot on the mobo, and as much memory as the mobo supports, plus a network card for each one, and weve got a component...each component goes into our central processing unit, and from there it crunches whatever we want it to. We're also trying toi make it modular, so we can just add the components into a nes plexiglass case and plug it in, then set it up from the central unit.

were using all the parts, seeing as how that 12 mhz (OC'ed from 4...w00t!) cpu can pump out an extra 500 dhrystones. We treat it kind of as a joke, but still, that extra bit of power can mean the difference between having an official report of 14.99999 megaflops and 15.

:frown: a mad overclocker just out benched me in dhryston/whetstone, he ocd his dual xeons to 3.82ghz, really I was slaughtered(he used promeria cooling) :disgust: I think the guy had something like 16% higher numbers, it was pretty awsome, He couldnt maintain it for very long, not 100% stable he said, forget the link to his pics of his scores.
I am seriously thinking of doing a CPU upgrade soon, although I can only go to 2.4 on this MOBO...

BTW I have no chip preference, as long as it does what I want it to do....quickly.
I have an Intel based PC, I fight for both Intel and AMD when I post my bench scores. You decide If you want to represent which company when. It dosent really matter, so long as your not 50% intel 50% AMD... 49% Intel 51% AMD is good even. HEH Im a real AMD nerd :nerd:
But I have to give Intel some credit, I DO have Intel chips in my Motherboard U know (: (*my integrated Lan chip is an Intel chip, heh)
