I live in California. I have a medical marijuana card so I can purchase it within walking distance of my residence legally and grow it as long as it yields less than an ounce,per plant I believe. (Not really a grower but I know some) I work at UPS and have been for 3 years and my job inflames old football injuries. I smoke a sativa before I go class so I can sit in those god awful chairs. I also smoke indica at night to help with my insomnia and to some extent just to get high and play games till I fall asleep.
I stopped drinking alcohol before I was even 21 because I abused it so much in combination with other things(Cocaine, Meth).I also used to smoke at least a pack a day, and on cocaine binges I once smoked 4 packs in one day. I could not talk right for a week. And I will agree I smoked pot before I ever did any of those other drugs so you can say it made me more open to try new things. I am a functioning member of society who pays taxes, votes(rare in CA for my age group) and support local community activities( I help coach my niece 10 year old basketball team)
I voted for the legalization of marijuana in last election here in CA. It failed. But nothing has changed. You can still get a recommendation easily. More and more dispensaries are opening up and this is money the goverment can be taxing but is not directly.
I do want legal marijuana but nor do I want it sold like alcohol or ciggaretes at my local cornerstore. I do not want to see Phillip-Morris Kush or Weed commercials during the super bowl.
Education is what we need. I do agree that right now with Unemployment so high, smoking weed aint gonna get people motivated.
o0o00o and whoever says America imports it is not smoking the go0o0od stuff. America grows some of the best herbs around. At least here in CA we do.
