You could always try Paint.Net if you're running Win2k or XP.
Note that I have no idea how good of a program it is, I just stumbed upon it by accident and remembered this thread.

i say i am since i've spent years using it and creating with it and i taught myself how to utilize it, my sister says i am and she's a professional graphic designer at a book publishing company, and the people who've seen my better work from when i was in the digital media course in college said i am. so pffffft! :DQuote:
