I've been on the fence about learning how to do my own. It really didn't look too complicated really. I can solder and I know of some good tutorials specific for NES reproduction. I just don't know if I really need another hobby. :-P

I wouldn't take much to get started, just as long as you know the specific technology you are trying to reproduce. Obviously, you need a similar donor and as far as I know, NES may be the most complicated with all of the mapper chips and ROM mirroring. As mentioned above, it is currently all above my head.

Retrozone has two different kits for NES reproing. They have the regular Repropak that has compatibility for 4 different mappers (NROM, U*ROM, CNROM, and A*ROM). As well as a Repropak MMC1 for all your MMC 1 repro needs. No need to look for donor carts for the above mapper carts. Only MMC3 and such, but I've heard MMC3 can be a pain.

I have 3 extras, all with new 72 pin connectors. :whistle:

Oh right. At $4, its a steal. I just need a list of games that run on those mappers and I'll be set since I have a ton of those EPROMs. If you want to do donors, then you have to buy up some 27c1001's or something, which are more than the common 27c256 etc.

i may have lost the entire Encounters campaign for my DnD group. i spent so much time and effort on healing myself and attempts at killing that i got our cleric killed by not remembering to use my power that lets him spend three healing surges and gain the HP as if he spent 2. DAMMIT! also, ima kill the Drow bitch (the char, not the player) who killed one of our best assets in the game. WHO IN HELL THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO KILL A POTENTIAL ALLY WHEN WE JUST LOST TWO PEOPLE IN ONE FREAKIN' ENCOUNTER!?!?!

one who was killed was the new guy so i don't really care but the cleric had been with us since the start of the campaign so i'm gonna keep my promise at the beginning and make them replay the entire encounter from the start.

Haha, damn. I sold a refurbished NES, w/hookups, one controller, and Little Nemo, for $60. To one of my co-workers. I thought that was fair.

Anyone here ever played Monster Party for the NES? If you haven't, it's one of the goriest, weirdest games ever made for the NES. I'm playing around with the editor for it and it's pretty cool. You can edit a shit-ton of stuff. I'm currently messing around, changing the round start screen. Making it even gorier than it was before. :wacko:
