Xena might be the only one who can solve this mystery...Quote:

Well that's my understanding anyway. But needless to say, different people have different ideas.Quote:

(no,I'm not satanist,I'm not saying this as a defense or something)
Dude. SATANISTS DO NOT WORSHIP SATAN.Quote:

go google "anton lavey" for more information.
Did a Metacrawl, got a link to a horribly laggy site that called itself the Church of Satan (that he founded). And Luciferianism is the worship of Lucifer in his aspect as Lightbringer or the bearer of wisdom, in essence. It also seems to draw a bit from Christian Gnosticism, Greco-Roman mythology, and occultism.
For that matter, you're only talking about a subset of Satanism, the philosophical or LaVayan aspect. There is religious Satanism, including Setian Satanism, that does recognize Satan as a deity, and is not Luciferianism.
I stand corrected. I heard that LaVey grabbed dibs on the word satanism or something...Quote:

I don't like the word "god" myself because even the bible mentions other gods, so there is no one "god." But I believe you can get through to the god of Jesus by asking him to speak for you. He came and died so that god would chill out on humanity (not send everyone to hell and flood the earth because there's too many "gays" etc). Everyone assumes god is all powerful, all knowing, and magical but really he is like us. We create things, then find out the effects later as we observe. Sometimes the things we create turn out to be used for bad purposes, sometimes good. But it's us who screw ourselves and the planet and god isn't going to wave his magic wand because he told us what we need to do to avoid all of this crap.
I took some pills a few years ago and choked in my sleep and left my body to go down into a hole it seemed deep within the earth. I was then picked up by the neck by an angry man with a look of hate on his face. I felt feelings of despair and hopelessness I never knew I was able to feel. It effected my life since then, sometimes good and sometimes bad. I know only that when I cried out for god's help, he wasn't there. The man (Lucifer maybe? who knows) said "god wont save you now" and I wimpered out a few breaths and said "then Jesus save me" and I shot back up into my body and woke up in my bed, my heart racing probably 200+ bpm, choking and gasping for air. It was so real and I was so angry at this a$$hole that was down there after the way he made me feel. I never knew someone could make one feel so helpless and hated without doing terrible things to them that I can't even mention.
So, I hate it...but I have to go by the premise that there is a hell and that there is much to do to gain salvation besides being a good person. Even if Jesus and god were all hogwash, it sure as heck makes me feel a lot safer to believe it.
I concluded after talking over with a former Satanist (or Luciferian as stated above) that the devil wants you more if you are a potential Christian than if you are following him. To follow him is to be far from him, not knowing that he will come for you one day. He is the reason Christians stop being Christians. When you follow Christ, the devil is close to you, and makes it seem like only negative things happen when you are trying to follow Jesus. The devil makes temptations seem more inviting and church seem more boring and pastors seem more hypocritical. But also I think pastors are doing the devils work for him when they add their personal opinions into the mix and talk down on others. Don't listen to them, read the New Testament for yourself and don't worry about whether or not the other stories are real or not or think that everything in the bible is "ok" because someone in the bible did it.
If you can be like Jesus and not the "pastors" you are progressing far more than they.
I do not have time to go through and read this entire thread so I don't know where each individual stands so I will just state this: I am a bible scholar and I know the true God's name, there is only one true religion and I also know the answer to the big question "Why are we here" (not joking I take my spirituality seriously). Think about that for a while.
To die of course.
