Wow, I stayed up for a long time actually having some sort of productive discussion with a mod at the Bible forum. I will post our conversation starting from a point where I started to be able to look past my anger. Not sure if it will do anything at all, but heres to hoping. If any mods at that forum are reading this I am not posting this in order to poke fun at you in anyway. By the way, I posted under the name cpt2falcon.

Yes, I would like to stick around because this is really the only place I know of that I can get some sort of Christian point of view, aside from my real life. I will follow your rules as much as I possibly can too. However, I strongly suggest that the staff discuss some of the things I have said about the rules. I know that you have a private place on the board where such a thing would be possible and I strongly suggest that you do so. It would be blatantly ignorant to dismiss what I have said entirely just because I may not believe some of the same things that you do. After reading this if you still do not want to kick me off of your board then, yes, I would like my name changed. Not because I am embarrassed about what I have said, but because I am used to the Strongbad name. If you wish you may talk about this incident with anyone on the board because it does not embarrass me in the least bit.

And about this peer pressure business, I am not sure if you were implying that I was being pressured by outside sources to attack you on your board or what. If that is what was being implied then I would like to tell you that I was not. I committed those acts out of anger stemming from the way I was previously treated. I must say, you have handled me better than the others have gbee, and for that, you have gained some of my respect. I feel that I was treated unfairly before and when I addressed that issue with the staff they did nothing but ban and mock me after doing so. That is very disrespectful.

Think about it, how many people have hid behind Christianity and use that automatically gained trust to do evil. A wolf in sheep’s clothing so to speak. I don't plan on "challenging your faith". Maybe I would propose some questions that you may find to be uncomfortable, but in the long run these questions would only give you more understanding.

I am so sick of people judging me based on what religion I may or may not claim to be part of. I am looked upon as a stupid individual for not sharing your beliefs. I assure you, I am not stupid. I probably understand more about the world works then you possibly know.

Why is it so hard to bring up some of the things I have asked you to with the other moderators? I am not telling you to change all of your rules. I am just asking you to think about your current ones and how you could possibly make them better. Not just to suite my needs, but EVERYONES needs.

That's great! It's good to see that someone there is cool enough to listen to the opinions of a so-called nonbeliever. It's all we were ever after, and they could've avoided a whole lot of trouble just by being more open to discussion from the start.

Oh, by the way Strongbad, they sent MasJ a message about all of this. They claim to have a police officer on their board who will file a harassment case because of what we said about them here. I'm pretty sure that we have every right to express our distaste with them here, and that they have no legal recourse. Once we were banned from their board, their options as to how to deal with us were exhausted.

Regardless of all that, they have to understand that with people like dljc representing them, and making it a point to mistreat people and threaten them rather than listen to them and consider their points, they're going to have to expect that people are going to express their distaste with that. The man is tainting people's perceptions of the board, so they need only look to him for a resolution to this issue, instead of sending hollow threats to other sites, especially as they had to have invaded our privacy to be aware of what we said here to begin with.

I do wish them all the best of luck in their future endeavors, and I do suppose that this exchange is proof that at least someone there is willing to approach things maturely. I suppose that it would be in their best interest to make sure that people like dljc are made to do the same, otherwise they will have to expect that people will express distaste with their behavior.

They have an option upon signup to indicate that you're Christian-curious, so to speak. Which means that to them, you're not a part of their little group, and so then, any opinions you may have are less than those who consider themselves Christians. What they fail to understand, is that some people seek guidance to help them determine what beliefs are right for them, and that in treating someone like that as less than a person, they are acting counter-indicative of that. They need to be more open-minded, and willing to help people along, rather than delete their posts and treat them with contempt, just because they checked that option upon signup. It's sad that a group devoted to expressing their faith, a faith that preaches love and tolerance, would be so close minded and intolerant. That's the issue I had with them.
