Bought Tales of Symphonia today for $2. :awesome:
I bought FFXIII-2 yesterday. It came with a cute sleeve case and a little hardcover booklet that I'm never going to read, but it sure looks pretty on the shelf.
(Except I now have too many games to fit on the little shelves on the side of my TV stand, might have to relocate the PS2 games.)
Bought
FFI and FFII Remastered Edition
Final Fantasy Chronicles (Chrono Trigger and FFIV)
Chrono Cross
All for PSX
School Days LE - $59.99 :cc:
Borderlands (replaying) - $9.99 plus whatever tax was
Borderlands 2 preorder - $5.00 (I want that 5th character)
Shin Megami Tensei - Digital Devil Saga I & II - $10.99/11.99 (Yay Dimple Records)
Just picked up Gotham City Imposters, Renegade Ops and Pacman Championship Edition DX off PS+.
More games to add to the backlog.
There should be an anime purchase thread but then I'd be the only one posting in it...
Was going to get another SSX today but the sale ended so it would have been $30 with the coupon which is meh.
Ended up getting an anime set instead.
It's worse in Japan. And it's more like $60 for 8 episodes if you paid retail on singles. :dread:
It's getting better, with pre-order discounts through right-stuf or amazon you can usually get any set for 65% or so of the retail which makes it around the same price of a live action show though it will still have less content.
Haha, I only considered buying anime once and it was older at that point (Paranoia Agent, if I remember correctly) and it was $40 for 6 episodes. >.> Evidently there is a need to seperate seasons into two parts. Some of my Japanese friends put me under the assumption that the cost is slightly better over there.
Example: Familiar of Zero is a 13 episode anime and it got 6 single releases in Japan with the first disc having 3 episodes and the rest having 2. Each one was around $50 or more retail (I can't remember retail on JP singles).
You just have to know how to shop for anime and you can get it for good prices. I agree with you that the half season release thing is stupid. If you wait there will be a full season release. Chrome Shelled Regios did the half season thing and each half was around $30 (for 12 eps) but then they released a full show release and with pre-order pricing you could get it for $40 for 12 episodes.
Edit: I guess where you live is important, I'm in the US.
Edit 2: Just did some browsing, most JP singles are $73 or so after conversion from Yen. Generally for 2 episodes... Yuck.
