Eeprom in linux/eeprom
and C and E in linux/e/c.

It went onto the screen where it says 'YES/NO' to device being master. I entered yes and hit enter

No. The only time I ran into problems with xbhdm, was when it prompted for a yes/no response. I kept putting "y", it would then hang, after putting "yes" it worked.

Make sure its set to combined mode, and try getting another cable and hooking up HD3 into the secondary channel. If you only have on channel, I'm not entirely sure what to tell you :shrug: I'm not really all that great at helping people out over the internetz.

I believe the set up I have is.

first IDE slot: 16x dvd-rw, other end of the IDE cable has nothing in...
second IDE slot: 80GB HDD (windows drive) (master) nothing in the other end of the cable...

I think I got that the right way around. If not, does it matter?

Wait, I read the rest of the thread. Ok, so its fine in windoze but in linux it fubbars up? Donnu what to tell ya, I've never had more than 2 hdd's hooked up at one time. :(

The guy who replied is telling you the same thing I did. I assumed you knew it was a bootable cd because it tells you that in the tut.
